House conservatives yesterday issued a dire warning to President Bush and Republican leadership that they will pay a devastating political price if they proceed with a guest-worker program or anything resembling amnesty for illegal aliens before securing the borders and enforcing existing immigration laws.
"They will remember in November," Rep. J.D. Hayworth, Arizona Republican, said of voters nationwide. "And many of those who have stood with our Republican majority in the last decade are not only angry, many of them plan to be absent from the polls" this year when the entire House and one-third of the Senate is up for re-election.

Thanks for the Swiftie money, you beat me by $500.
Have a great day!
Yeah, I was in pre-school when Reagan was elected. I remember my parents were very excited because they were very dissatisfied with Carter. Having subsequently learned about Carter and previous presidents in history class, I know they had good reason to be.
I suppose it is human nature to put a good man, who changed a lot for the better, up on a pedestal. It isn't very constructive, though.
Even a blind pig gets the time right twice a day. Or something :-)
Cheers!
My previous contentions still hold sway America! Until this country is willing to throw off "PARTY" labels and begin to evaluate politicians on Conservative merits; the hoped for changes we all seek so desparately will never come. In the mean time it is time to start scheduling Impeachments for those who still refuse to fall in line and do the will of the people who elected them, starting at the very top and going downward. The ISSUES are clear and need to be acted upon. Quit whyning and get busy doing the people's business!
No more excuses, no more waffeling you have been warned the People's patience has been exhaused! America for legal Americans!
Thanks, I have it now.
We need mass rallies nationwide.....Talk Radio will have to lead cause no one else is so far.
The "war" is over. Saddam was toppled, the Taliban driven out. Afghanistan and Iraq have an elected government (remember all those purple fingers). The combat in each of those countries are "internal affairs".
How long is Bush going to hide behind the "We are at war" shtick? The war that really exists is one between Islam and other religions/cultures and that is global and will be with us for generations, therefore it ceases to be a defense for ineptitude in other areas of governing nor should provide immunity from criticism for lack of ability.
You want to use the "we are at war" excuse as a defense, why not add "war of drugs", "war on crime", "war on poverty" all of which we're still fighting and all of which contribute to the tearing down of our nation's fiber.
Bush is a lightweight and no amount of "shock and awe" will change that.
Imagine, if you will, all sorts of wonderful things are given to these illegal aliens ( what was, for a long time, the proper term )--able to bank, buy houses, skirt taxes, without paying the price of meddling government( which uses 'citizenship' as the guise to do so ).
Now, imagine, the US suddenly loosing millions of 'citizens' off of the tax rolls, although the the population of the US has not decreased. Now, rhetorically, I ask: Where did all those former 'citizens' go?
Or, in other words, maybe it is time to use a little political jiujitsu and use the Federal government's non-representative nature against itself. Think about it.
So get over it!
You're a garden-variety Bush basher. They come and they go.
Thanks for the history lesson, but, never did answer the question about what Reagan would think about these attacks on Bush from this blog.
They are starting. We have one next Thursday in Dallas. KLIF is doing it.
Based on Reagan's indisputable love for America, I think he would have been utterly disgusted with Bush and his elitist internationalist cronies. My best guess is that he would run against the party establishment, as he did earlier in his career, if he were able to do so.
Good ....they are talkling about one here in Nashville
the illegals had their spanish language networks and radio drumming them up ....organized by leftist and reconquista groups (supported by a few rather loud freepers obviously)
we do not have that luxury even though a distinct majority of citizens are with us
I hope the MECHA traitors keep it up....they help us more than anything
"stupid" -- "don't have kids" -- that really furthers your argument, or did you have one?
They will and they will not like the consequences.
