House conservatives yesterday issued a dire warning to President Bush and Republican leadership that they will pay a devastating political price if they proceed with a guest-worker program or anything resembling amnesty for illegal aliens before securing the borders and enforcing existing immigration laws.
"They will remember in November," Rep. J.D. Hayworth, Arizona Republican, said of voters nationwide. "And many of those who have stood with our Republican majority in the last decade are not only angry, many of them plan to be absent from the polls" this year when the entire House and one-third of the Senate is up for re-election.

Well, what silly game do you want to play?
Signs in spanish, announcements in stores in spanish, products with spanish all over them, ATM's asking me if I want to do my transaction in spanish (What? This is the U.S.!!!), press one for spanish, etc.
I am very close to having the phrase "Speak English" put on all of my shirts.
Thanks for pointing that up, I didn't think of that. That was a wrong decision on his part. I wonder why our leaders always seem to disappoint us in the end.
The war isn't popular???
You must be kidding.
I love war.
So, may we take it you want to dig up Neville Chamberlain and make him President?
excellent idea, therefore it will never be implemented :(
It has become obvious that our "leaders" want to import non-educated sheeple rather than people who can actually contribute to America.
BTW, my grandmother was a LEGAL immigrant from Hungary (many, many years ago).
To begin with Congress cut 1500 additional Border agents out of his request last year.

I am informed. You apparently are not...either that, or you are a liar. The BP was carrying out successful interior operations that resulted in deportations in S. California. They were ORDERED to stop interior enforcement.
I just dropped a load of $hit on him myself. I summed up by saying that if we're going to ignore our own laws, what do we need legislators for?
I'm sure THAT will get his attention. Or not. :^|
I never quite understood the Reaganolotry of so many conservatives. Yes, Reagan did a lot to advance the conservative cause, but he also did some things to set it back, amnesty being one of them.
On the whole, his plusses outweigh his minuses, but to set him us as some standard of conservatism against which to measure everyone else is just plain dumb.
I've got one word for you: incumbancy.
The way the system is set up, it's nearly impossible to mount an effective challange to an incumbant during a primary. And of course, you can't expect the dems to challange him on immigration, since their position is identical.
In some ways, I'd rather have a Dem in McCain's seat than McCain. At least then we'd have a chance of getting rid of him. But when there's a RINO around, we're pretty much stuck with him.
Reaganolotry has got to stop.
Reagan was a step forward for America and Conservatism, followed by Congressional follow up.
Bush has been 3 steps backwards.
Semantics, guest workers = open borders, Do you or anyone else think for a moment that if someone stays here for three years they are going to willingly go back, and, if they sire a child while here they will be here forever. We tried amnesty in 1986 and it got us 12 million more. lets do it again and let another 12 million in and then for sure the Mexican flag will fly over ours!
Yup. Let's see if I can identify the steps. 1) Files briefs supporting affirmative action 2) Creates the largest new entitlement program (and unfunded liability) since the 1960's 3)Pushes amnesty for illegals.
Getting Alito on the bench, it must be confessed, is a step forward. But that would not have happened if true conservatives didn't revolt when he tried to pull that stunt with his incompetent leftist crony, Harriet Miers.
3 points out of 2 dozen or more, for me.
CFR, Ag Bill, Kennedy Ed Bill, Security, etc.
He doesn't have to run again this time.
