I believe the war actually started when the Murrah building in Oklahoma City was bombed, followed by the downing of TWA 800 with a shoulder fired missile. Of course there were attacks overseas before those, so the actual start is somewhat murky.
I think most of us have known for decades that Mr. Graham is right.
This is going to go on for several generations, unless we begin to use the overwhelming power we have.
Or maybe the 1979 Embassy take over in Iran.
I also believe that both OKC and TWA800 were terrorist strikes, and well-covered-up by us to avaoid a direct problem. Someday, it'll come out as the truth.

There are good people within Islam. They just don't have a voice. Bush is trying to elevate those people so we don't have to fight all 1.2 billion of them.

The point is that Islam is nothing. People are good or evil. A lot of evil people are perverting Islam for their purposes. Some good people don't want that to happen.
Bush is trying to give a voice and power to those that want to have a peaceful Islam.

It's easy to say that, "Well, 9/11 was perpetrated by just a handful of kooks who don't represent the majority," I'm still struck by the pictures of the "Arab street" celebrating on September 12th, particularly that hedious Palestinian woman waving her hands in the air. That image is seared into my brain. Then there is the deafening silence from the so-call "moderate Arabs" (there's an oxymoron for you!) who have yet to strongly denounce terrorism.

Actually, that is not true. It is an interpretation that could also be made of the bible....and has been by some in the past!
