I lived five years in Saudi Arabia. My wife wore an abaya when she went out so she wouldn't draw attention to herself. I don't find Carroll's attire all that unusual under the circumstances.
Appears Jill needs a little de-programming as she's become more than a sympathizer to her captors agenda. In listening to her speak, she sounds smitten.

I for one am happy for her family and her that she was released. I hope she has the good sense to get out of the Middle East as soon as possible.

I will modify my statement and say they don't want a repeat of a Daniel Pearl. The best way to do that is to portray yourself as a sypathetic observer to the terrorist/insurgent cause.
Oh f&^%* it. Just let her spout her BS. The American people will feel disgusted after seeing what she has to say.
My opinion has not only been correct but my "insult" is a statement of fact applicable to many.
