22 bucks a pound for them
My nephew (his twin sister -- the one who went to NASCAR school, one of her friends, my sister-in-law, and my SIL's sister) just got home from a week in Rome.
My nephew said he thought the choices on one restaurant's ala carte menu seemed reasonable, so he ordered the beef fillet for [pretend I'm using the Euro symbol here]$12.something. THEN, after he'd already ordered, he said he figured out that the fine print said that the price quoted was "per 100 grams." He had a $70 steak! Plus the cost of the rest of the meal. (I didn't ask.) ;)

LOL yep on the traveler's check.
My niece works in the (fancy) restaurant industry in Atlanta, so she was scouting some out. She had a list of what are supposedly the 10 best restaurants in Italy -- and made reservations at one for their first night there. Her mother was not happy when that night's meals cost them $94 (US) per person!
The steak was on a night when my SIL and her sister were on a side trip, and my niece, friend, and nephew went out to eat. My nephew said at first he thought she'd picked a moderately priced place. Before the "100 grams" discovery. (He actually took a picture of his steak that night and e-mailed it to me!) ;)

It's my understanding that they otherwise had reasonably priced meals. (My niece has expensive tastes! Plus, I have a sneaking suspicion that her boss may be reimbursing her for some of her research. LOL)

Same for heads and tails as well as bones of any fish for making stock.
4Qt pot
diced onions
diced celery
diced carrots
TBSP vegetable oil
Med high heat for about 10 minutes
add 2 cups water
pinch of salt
a little fresh ground pepper
add the fish parts
put a lid on the pot turn the heat down a little and allow to cook down adding 1/4 to 1/2 cup more water occasionally. do this for about an hour to hour and one half. Remove from heat and allow to cool. Strain the stock liquid into a freezer bag and toss in the freezer for later use.
