School investigating after boys forced to clean up restroom
Officials in the Bird Island, Olivia, Lake Lillian (BOLD) school district are investigating after a teacher forced boys in her kindergarten class to clean a restroom smeared with feces.
"The district is in the process of investigating what occurred, and we will deal with it," said BOLD Superintendent Mike Funk. "I can assure you that this will not happen again."
Funk said he has spoken with the parents of two of the ten boys involved in the clean-up. He said the teacher will write a letter to the other parents to inform them of what happened.
"This is my son's safety," said Tremell Pittman, the father of one boy. "To me it's a serious, serious health hazard." The boy's mother removed the child from the classroom the day after the incident.
Pittman said the bathroom in the kindergarten classroom had been smeared with feces several times over the past month. On March 14, 10 boys were told they had to clean it up.
Pittman said the teacher had the children wash their hands afterward but none of the kindergartners were given gloves or other protection. Pittman said his son didn't get sick, but will have him examined by a doctor.
The BOLD district is in west-central Minnesota.

BREAKING WIND!
er, news.
There was a South Park episode on Mr. Hanky...
Does she think robots clean bathrooms?
So then... one kid looks over at the other and says, "This is a bunch of crap".
So did they do the deed? If so, I dont have a problems with it at all. In fact I am a teacher and i have kids who write on my desks clean my room (desks, floors and board)..never had a complaint either.
Just her's. If only they could it would help solve part of the Illegal Alien problem. That and the automatic tomamto picker.
Are these "kindergartners" children ... or monkeys?
"So did they do the deed?"
Since that terribly obvious question was avoided in this article, I would wager to say the answer is "yes".
If you don't want to do the time, don't do the crime.
Good question -- who, in fact, caused the mess in the first place?
The modern media is absolutely awful when it comes to writing an informative article. This "reporter" needs to go back to school.
Well Mr. Pittman, if you would have only taught your son responsibility and to not be a whiner like yourself.
Then tell your son not to make poop and smear it on the walls, even if all his friends are doing it, and even if they all think it's very very funny to mess things up and make extra work for other people.
Fingerpainting sure has changed since I was in kindergarten. My solution is to have these outraged parents do the clean up instead of their errant progeny..
ok that is disgusting and not safe for any of the kids.
there are much better things that could have been done
to solve this problem.
This thread is ample evidence of why most people recoil from the brand of "conservatism" that some here peddle.
It's a good thing I'm not a teacher. I do not have the temperament for it.
If I had caught any of the little brats in the act, the parents wouldn't be asking "Why wasn't my son given gloves and a hazmat suit?", they'd be wondering "How do I get this s*** out of my son's nose?"
