If Bush came out and stated, in no uncertain terms, that he wanted to control the border first and enforce the current laws - He would be backed by the congress (not a 100 % but enough to pass a bill).

But instead he continues to push for an open border policy.

Yesterday I was advocating some type of guest worker (amnesty) program, saying we needed one because deportation simply was not feasible. Today, after seeing more of the ANSWER sponsored anti-American protests, I've changed my mind 180 degrees.
