This morning, President Bush announced from the Oval Office at the White House, the resignation of long time friend, and 5 year Chief of Staff, Andrew Card, and the appointment of Josh Bolten, director of the White House Office of Management and Budget, to that position. Later, following a Cabinet Meeting, the President made a statement in the Rose Garden, surrounded by Cabinet members, about the progress in the government of Iraq, and the commitment of his administration to work with their counterparts in Iraq in the future.
In news of significance to all conservatives, both Lyn Nofziger (81), Reagan press secretary, and Caspar Weinberger (88), Reagan's Secretary of Defense, died in the past 24 hours. Both men served with distinction and will be missed.
Enjoy your trip to Sanity Island on the Daily Dose!
Hypocrite. You cry to the Mods about innocuous posts I submit then resort to childish insults.
DrDeb, I don't thank you enough for all of your efforts, but I want to take this post to do so. You are the best!
I'll third it!
I'll third it!
Prayers are the most powerful help. You are a great mom!
Your not a pest...we've all been there...afterall, we are moms..LOL
I guess that's a double third...the second third is from my computer to your computer, DrDeb! ha ha ha
Stay away from the thread. If Ohio doesn't trust you then I don't either.
***Lol!!! I love that. I'm going to use that sometime.***
Be my guest! It would be great for the anti-Bush people.
Wolf, I can't agree with this. The basic reason is that our gov't has stretched their tentacles into every part of our lives. Congressfolk need years to understand what they're really voting on. Right now, the new ones rely on Congressional staffers, who are mostly young people trying to "get a name" and a career path. They are not responsible to the voters or anyone else.
It's not just the balance of power; it's also the reach of power. Presidents usually have to confine their efforts to just a few major initiatives. No one can deal with all of the gov't issues.
Congressfolk usually eventually learn something about one area or two. But for the newly elected, their votes are dependent on the opinions of unknown and unaccountable staffers.
Now, if we could reduce the scope of gov't..... (I must be hallucinating)
Glad to hear that things seem to be going well with your son and daughter prayers that they continue to improve
***ooops, sorry... reading posts in print is a long second to hearing conversation!***
Nothing to apologize for, Fudd Fan. I was a bit distracted when I posted, and not very clear.
Thank you, Dr. Deb.
Hee hee hee. Oh, they'll love that.
This is reserved for those of us who respect President Bush..........not for people who are pretending to be one thing while being something completely different.
There is no hypocrisy here.........other than your crashing this thread to play your games.
You've managed to hide your disdain for the President on this particular thread on this particular night, but you're not fooling those of us who know who you really are.
Get out of here.
I ran into him at a Barnes & Noble a few yrs ago.
