A Day in the Life of President Bush - (photos) - 3.28.06

This morning, President Bush announced from the Oval Office at the White House, the resignation of long time friend, and 5 year Chief of Staff, Andrew Card, and the appointment of Josh Bolten, director of the White House Office of Management and Budget, to that position. Later, following a Cabinet Meeting, the President made a statement in the Rose Garden, surrounded by Cabinet members, about the progress in the government of Iraq, and the commitment of his administration to work with their counterparts in Iraq in the future.

In news of significance to all conservatives, both Lyn Nofziger (81), Reagan press secretary, and Caspar Weinberger (88), Reagan's Secretary of Defense, died in the past 24 hours. Both men served with distinction and will be missed.

Amusing, though...........and a touch pathetic.

Hypocrite. You cry to the Mods about innocuous posts I submit then resort to childish insults.

If, at the same time the 22nd Amendment was being proposed and ratified, term limits for senators and representatives were also included, the original balance of power between the two branches would have been maintained.

Wolf, I can't agree with this. The basic reason is that our gov't has stretched their tentacles into every part of our lives. Congressfolk need years to understand what they're really voting on. Right now, the new ones rely on Congressional staffers, who are mostly young people trying to "get a name" and a career path. They are not responsible to the voters or anyone else.

It's not just the balance of power; it's also the reach of power. Presidents usually have to confine their efforts to just a few major initiatives. No one can deal with all of the gov't issues.
Congressfolk usually eventually learn something about one area or two. But for the newly elected, their votes are dependent on the opinions of unknown and unaccountable staffers.

Now, if we could reduce the scope of gov't..... (I must be hallucinating)

Nothing to apologize for, Fudd Fan. I was a bit distracted when I posted, and not very clear.

I have explained it clearly. This thread has a long history of being protected from Bush bashers (which you are).

This is reserved for those of us who respect President Bush..........not for people who are pretending to be one thing while being something completely different.

There is no hypocrisy here.........other than your crashing this thread to play your games.

You've managed to hide your disdain for the President on this particular thread on this particular night, but you're not fooling those of us who know who you really are.

Get out of here.

Do you know when and where the President is speaking tomorrow?

Tomorrow, President Bush meets with the president of Nigeria at 10:55 am ET, makes remarks to Freedom House a the Hyatt Regency on Capitol Hill at 1:20 pm ET, and heads to Cancun, Mexico.

BTW, thanks for tonight's Dose, ohio.
God bless you, Secretary Card, and thank you for your service to our country.
