This morning, President Bush announced from the Oval Office at the White House, the resignation of long time friend, and 5 year Chief of Staff, Andrew Card, and the appointment of Josh Bolten, director of the White House Office of Management and Budget, to that position. Later, following a Cabinet Meeting, the President made a statement in the Rose Garden, surrounded by Cabinet members, about the progress in the government of Iraq, and the commitment of his administration to work with their counterparts in Iraq in the future.
In news of significance to all conservatives, both Lyn Nofziger (81), Reagan press secretary, and Caspar Weinberger (88), Reagan's Secretary of Defense, died in the past 24 hours. Both men served with distinction and will be missed.

It's the Mod's decision, but I am politely asking you to leave on the basis of this thread's long and respected history.
Those of us who post here admire the President, and you treat him with disdain on this forum.
It is possible to disagree with him, and still respect him, but you choose to badmouth him with regularity.
Once again, please leave.

I have a strong feeling they were equally gripey about Reagan when that dear man was around I suspect you are right and back then they were saying I voted for him twice but but but.

You will really enjoy Strategery. When it arrived from Amazon, I opened it to just read the contents, maybe the first page or two... before the weekend was over, I was 1/3 finished. I love Sammon.

The behavior of the left, clearly outlined by Sammon is enfuriating. But the chapters that detail the downfall of Rather & Company were worth it!

Echoing oWf's comments:
Thank you for your service to our President this country, Mr. Card. You have done so with dignity, honor and loyalty, and we are grateful.
Thank you for all those long hours of dedication to our great President and your Country.

I highly doubt that any of the so-called Reagan supporters who belittle the President around here are genuine.
I personally believe it's a cover for either fringe rightists, or RATS to bash President Bush. They respected Reagan as much as they respect Bush. They just use his name to further their political extremism.
ALL of us who truly respected President Reagan..........ALL OF US...........see the same traits in President Bush and respect him too.
People who use Reagan to bash Bush are phonies. (And the one you mentioned who has Reagan's name in his is particularly odious. He has no respect for Reagan at all. He demeans that great man with every post).

Read in one of the articles here at FR that Andy Card is leaving to go help Mitt Romney organize a run for the Presidency.

That is a special photo of Andy card and the President. Our church is doing a Bible Study on 9/11 - using the National Geographic dvds, and just last night I saw this on TV. It makes it even more poignant to me that he is leaving. He has indeed served this President and his country well.
Thank you oWf for the photos - I haven't seen them all yet -just got in from meetings - but I will catch up!!!!
To: LUV W
The media SO wants to make this resignation into more than it is.
It's actually kind of fun to watch, because no one believes a word they say any more.

I think you may be first, Peach....... If you check your records, you'll find that I was first once. However, I'm sad to report that I never received my prize. Please don't consider sending me a toaster or coffee maker, just jump to the top and send me a frame-able picture of my favorite President.

LOL! He's had a lot of experience with the press, altura.
He knows how to deal with them...........and to expect them to get everything wrong in the articles they write. :)
