This morning, President Bush announced from the Oval Office at the White House, the resignation of long time friend, and 5 year Chief of Staff, Andrew Card, and the appointment of Josh Bolten, director of the White House Office of Management and Budget, to that position. Later, following a Cabinet Meeting, the President made a statement in the Rose Garden, surrounded by Cabinet members, about the progress in the government of Iraq, and the commitment of his administration to work with their counterparts in Iraq in the future.
In news of significance to all conservatives, both Lyn Nofziger (81), Reagan press secretary, and Caspar Weinberger (88), Reagan's Secretary of Defense, died in the past 24 hours. Both men served with distinction and will be missed.
Enjoy your trip to Sanity Island on the Daily Dose!
newspaper guys? Tell him to watch his back.
It's the newspeople trying to make the news.
It's like Fatso Russert posting a quote from New York Times for the guest (if Republican) to answer to...as if the NYT was some kinda gospel, or even an honest paper.
That's beautiful. Thanks for posting Johnny's work.
How are the family?
Or, to put it less nicely, here's the door, creep.
You were kind enough to ask yesterday how my kids are doing with their medical problems. My daughter is recovering nicely from surgery, but my son had to have a liver scan. I think that came out just fine, though. Tomorrow he has yet another dr's appt. and possibly more tests. I would truly appreciate more prayers for a good outcome. And to keep ME calm.
Enough of what? I was the 1st to post on this thread, which should have awarded me the daily toaster.
I posted a very nice picture of President Bush with The Corrs, (GWB certainly didn't look perturbed by it as you seem to be).
I then posted a picture of Andrea Corr, who President Bush stood beside for pictures, and if I may add, Andrea and her sisters commented favorably about GWB.
So, I won't insist that Peach's toaster be taken away. I am willing to accept co-toaster acknowledgment.
Excuse me, cute story, but the last line has the wrong state: It's Texas.
If only the founding fathers had known about Ted Kennedy, they would have established term limits for senators.
I have the same experience at the library, Peach. So I have written down the name of the book you recommended.
Maybe I'll like it too.
Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-VT) (L) takes a photo of Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice prior to her appearance before a Senate Appropriations hearing on State, Foreign Operations and Related Programs on Capitol Hill in Washington March 28, 2006
Great bunch of pictures, Ohio! I guess the media has had a feeding frenzy with Andy Card resigning today. He will be missed, but I'll bet Mr. Bolten will be good, too. The president knows how to pick people.
Looks like one of the picture-takers was veeeerrryy interested in Condi's legs! LOL! (#6)
Great picture. You are quite the talent. The anguish on GWB's face while he's hugging that person is palatable.
That's what I was figuring. :)
WOW! THAT's talent!!! EXCELLENT sj!!!
Snugs, your spelling of honour was SO nicely English. I've read so many English mysteries that I spell that way a lot.
Yes. I know the type. Reagan Man is another. They use their 'Reagan worship' as a tool to belittle our President.
I have a strong feeling they were equally gripey about Reagan when that dear man was around.
AMEN!
Bears repeating.
