WESTWOOD ONE LAUNCHES THE MONICA CROWLEY SHOW
--New Program to Air Saturdays, Noon - 3 p.m. ET-- Beginning Saturday, April 1, 2006
New York, NY Monday, Mar 20, 2006 - Westwood One (NYSE: WON) is proud to announce the national launch of The Monica Crowley Show, the three-hour talk program hosted by author and news personality Monica Crowley. The show begins Saturday, April 1, 2006, and will air from noon to 3 p.m. ET.
The Monica Crowley Show will debut on major market stations across the country including: WABC-AM New York, WTKK-FM Boston and WTNT-AM Washington DC. The show will feature Crowley tackling topics and issues on the minds of Americans with her unique blend of knowledge, strong opinion and charm. The Monica Crowley Show will also feature compelling interviews with special guests and caller interaction with listeners nationwide.
"Monica Crowley is a rising star forging her own path in cable news and talk radio," said Bart Tessler, SVP of News and Talk Programming for Westwood One. "We're thrilled to bring her talent and unique perspective to great stations and their audiences across the country."
"I am delighted to be launching my new show on Westwood One," said Crowley. "It is an honor and a joy to be a part of their extraordinary team, and we are both looking forward to delivering a terrific show."
Monica Crowley began her career in radio on WABC-AM New York as a frequent guest on the "Batchelor and Alexander Show". Her insight and intelligent analysis on the day's news earned Crowley a large following of WABC fans. In 1996, Crowley joined the Fox News Channel as a political and international affairs analyst and has since become a commentator and analyst with MSNBC where she also co-hosted "Coast to Coast" with Ron Reagan. She holds two Masters degrees and a Ph.D. in international affairs from Columbia University and worked as a Foreign Policy Assistant to former President Richard Nixon from 1990 until his death in 1994. Crowley's experience with Nixon prompted her to write two best-selling books, Nixon off the Record: His Candid Commentary on People and Politics and Nixon in Winter. She has also written for The New Yorker, The Wall Street Journal, The Los Angeles Times, The Baltimore Sun and The New York Post. Crowley has been a guest on the major TV and cable news channels, including ABC, NBC, FOX and HBO and worked as a commentator on National Public Radio's Morning Edition for four years.

I like Monica Crowley a lot. Her Saturday radio show here in NY is very good. However, this Westwood One gig will pit her against El Rushbo in the northeast market. Hope she can survive.
To: snakechopper
It's a Saturday show so I do not see how she'll be up against Rush. She'll survive with no problem at all. I'm still trying to find out where she will be on here in Colorado.

"I'm still trying to find out where she will be on here in Colorado"
WABC-NY Does live streaming, that's the best bet for now.

My bad! You're right; it's a Saturday show. No worries, then.

Had no idea Rush was on the air on the weekends?

I just setup my Replay AV program to record the Crowley show off the internet and save it as an MP3. I got Replay AV several weeks ago and it's been great for a talk radio junkie like me. It's pretty much like an internet VCR except it can record any number of streams simultaneously and never runs out of tape (although a big hard drive is necessary when, like me, you record lots of shows). No affiliation with the company that makes it, just a satisfied customer.

Thanks for the tip. I've been using a competing product, Total Recorder, for a number of years now. Although Total Recorder's feature set seems to be much smaller than Replay AV's, it does all I need -- e.g. scheduled recording of external and streaming audio -- for a lot less money ($11.95 vs. $49.95).
On that rare occasion when I needed to record two or more shows simultaneously, I just used multiple PCs. :-)

FNC made a big mistake not signing Monica. She is a babe, but she is also very smart and articulate.
To: snakechopper
No worries-- Monica's radio show will run on Saturdays. [Don't bother about the snide comments made here about your post.]
