These photos were taken at Ground Zero, the World Trade Center site in New York, on September 13, 2001.
They were taken by someone named "Ed" who was allowed into the area by a member of the emergency response crew, at a time when all civilians -- including most journalists -- were forbidden to enter the area. As a result, these photos are just about the only close-ups ever taken of the World Trade Center site so soon after the 9/11 attacks.

When I see those pummeled neighboring buildings, I wonder what it must have been like for people in them. Is anyone aware of any anecdotes from people who were in buildings that had debris raining down on them?

A sad price we've paid for sucking up to the Saudi's.
Why we had troops in their pithole of a country is beyond me.
Energy independence is the only answer to this stupidity.

Wow, amazing. It seems hard to believe now this ever happened. I wish this would be published in a widely read source somewhere to snap Americans out of their vile complacency that is telling them we need to withdraw from the fight against these very Al Qaeda animals in Iraq who did this to us on 9-11. But the MSM will never print these photos because it might help Bush if people remember how terrible and horrofic that day was.
