Southern Californians protest nothing...usually. The lifestyle is as wide-open and apathetic as its sprawl of homes from the Mexican border north into Ventura County. I'm a native Angeleno, which means I was born in Los Angeles -- East Los Angeles to be exact, so don't bull me about being rooted somewhere else.
...
There are two main reasons I left Los Angeles in 1991: Rampant crime and the influx of illegal aliens from Mexico -- and those two reasons are connected statistics show. Now, on 25 March 2006, the illegal aliens took their stomp to the streets of Los Angeles with what seems to be a clear message: "We are here, we are illegal, and proud to be Mexican."
Anyone who disagrees is called a racist.

I agree with you, Bart. We've given this president far too much slack because of the war. He's abetted a veritable invasion. Kerry would have been worse, but why must we continue to choose between one lame leader and another? We should be ashamed of ourselves for having allowed ourselves to be led by these miscreants. We voted for every single dirty one of them, and some of us will continue voting for them well into the future.
"substanceless hauteur"
See what you caused to crawl out from under the rocks?
Guys who prance about bantying Frenchy sounding razzel dazzel. Let's see how far that gets you on Broadway Street in downtown LA. Homie!
"Guys who prance about bantying Frenchy sounding razzel dazzel."
Are you drunk?
Let's not let them off the hook John.
They owe us. Lets demand real fixes and not settle for bullshit.
That's sort of how I figured it. I would imagine the upper class likes to keep their peasants in line the hard way.
I know you're being sarcastic. I've heard that the day-labor pools in the Carolinas are filled with unwashed illegal immigrants. It's in every state. Maybe it appears worse in California this year, but there are nearly a half-billion people living south of the border in South and Central America, if not more.
How many should we let in from now on?
"I thought NAFTA was supposed to make life better for Mexicans in their own country."
You didn't read the fine print, it was designed to reduce our standard of living to theirs.
Welcome to the thrid world, the goals of the communists are finally being achieved.
Too bad we couldn't just drop big nets over all the protesters in every city and dump them back to their beloved Mexico.
Have you ever visited a hospital emergency room on a weekend? As a citizen, you would be out numbered!
Truth is John, you speak very clearly for all of us Americans. We deserve better than what's been foisted off on us and it's time we demand real solutions from our leaders.
They must do their jobs. It's their obligation to their constituency. (That's us.)
Keep the Faith John. We appreciate your fire.
I'm a bit confused. Are you one of those people, (Democrats, liberals, etc.), that thinks history began the moment President Bush was sworn into office? Were there no illegal aliens here before January 2001?
I'm not saying that I totally support the President's position on this issue, but I understand that any legislation will be a compromise of some sort that will not completely satisfy either side of the issue.
No arguments here.
We could do that, but our current crop of gutless leaders wouldn't think of it.
Bingo!
Yep, even if you are for legal immigration.
