Southern Californians protest nothing...usually. The lifestyle is as wide-open and apathetic as its sprawl of homes from the Mexican border north into Ventura County. I'm a native Angeleno, which means I was born in Los Angeles -- East Los Angeles to be exact, so don't bull me about being rooted somewhere else.

I second that. Excerpted, but the article is short and pithy. This caught my eye because someone suggested that I was a racist here today, right here on FR, where free speech for conservative, pro-American causes is supposed to be of highest value.
Pithy, determined writer on the subject of the ongoing invasion from the south.
No one likes being called a racist. This is what these people do. It's a way of disarming the opposition. In other words, they change the subject from illegal immigration to racism. Guess what? I bet it works on our weak-kneed politicians.
Their signs are lies.
I don't know who called (suggeested?) you were racist, but I will say that last year that was the preferred tactic of individuals who tried very hard to get the anti-illegal-alien FReepers banned.
They were successful with several of us.

It is not racist to ask immigrants to assimilate. It is not racist to expect people to obey the law. But it is racist when you oppose the OBL agenda. Sounds like a familiar refrain...
True history,huh? Which one? The one where the signholders ancestors came from Spain or the one where we paid Mexico? So, if I buy a house should I worry that the previous owner's grandchildren might show up and move in then expect me to take care of them?
The people carrying those signs no doubt belong to Mecha. They believe the southwest was stolen from them and they mission is to get it back. Tehy are well on their way in California.

They call it racism, yet seem deaf to the legal immigrants and the Mexicans who are a few generations removed from Mexico. They don't want illegals here either.
You may or may not be racist. That's really immaterial.
The larger issue is really: Do you have anything of merit to say here?
You barely described the extent of the "PROBLEM" and you neglected to say anything about any kind of solution whatsoever.
With that sort of macho-empty-headedness, what do we need you for?
This is indeed a serious assault on the very soveriegnty of this nation... short of total annihilation, nothing could be more serious. And we got you!

It will provide the necessary public momentum to push this legislation through, building the wall, fining employers, cutting their welfare off and kicking their kids our of our schools and hospitals.

One more thing. I used to live in a suburb of LA back in the 1960s. I can tell you it was truly an American paradise back then, except for the smog. I wouldn't even go back to visit it now. A lot of these multiculturalists haven't seen their own neighborhoods go from an Orange-blossomed haven for children to a drug-infested, gang-banging barrio the way I have.
Nothing wrong with LEGAL immigration. The government needs to get the borders under control before they start a guest worker program. There should be no amnesty though.
Please call them INVADERS and don't compare them to people who are legal aliens!
President Bush has been great on most things except for our border.
He has been great on the war on terrorists.
But on the border he is a gross failure.
He acted fast and correct on the 3,000+ people murdered at the world trade center.
He ignores the many rapes, murders and robberies which might be larger than the murders and money loss at the world trade center.
More Americans are abducted on the border of Mexico than in Iraq!
Start building the fence.
It should be made a felony for Criminals who overstay their visas and Invaders.
I believe we should give amnesty to these poor CRIMINALS or INVADERS.
This should be a 2 week amnesty to get the heck out of our Country.
The ones who ignore this amnesty should be buried in a tent city jail and fined $10,000 or buried elsewhere.
All aiders and abettors of these CRIMINALS or INVADERS should get 1 year in a tent city jail and a $10,000 fine for each CRIMINAL aided.
Those in government should be the first ones charged.
