Iraqis killed by US troops ‘on rampage’
Times Online ^ | 03/26/06 | Hala Jaber and Tony Allen-Mills, New York

Posted on 03/26/2006 7:05:43 AM PST by FarmerW

Khalaf ran from his own house and hid in a nearby grove of trees. He saw the soldiers enter his brother’s home and then heard the sound of women and children screaming.

“Then there was a lot of machinegun fire,” he said last week. After that there was the most frightening sound of all — silence, followed by explosions as the soldiers left the house.

..troops were gone, Khalaf and his fellow villagers began a frantic search through the ruins of his brother’s home. Abu Sifa was about to join a lengthening list of Iraqi communities claiming to have suffered from American atrocities.

According to Iraqi police, 11 bodies were pulled from the wreckage of the house, among them four women and five children aged between six months and five years. An official police report obtained by a US reporter for Knight Ridder newspapers said: “The American forces gathered the family members in one room and executed 11 people.” __ .. US marine armoured vehicle struck a roadside bomb that killed a 20-year-old lance-corporal. According to a marine communiqué issued the next day, the blast also killed 15 Iraqi civilians and was followed by an attack on the US convoy in which eight insurgents were killed.

An investigation by Time established that the civilians had not been killed by the roadside bomb, but were shot in their homes after the marines rampaged through Haditha. Among the dead were seven women and three children.

“Women and even the children were blindfolded and their hands bound. Some of their faces were totally disfigured. A lot of blood was on the floors and the walls.”

Khalaf said he had found the body of his mother Turkiya with her face unrecognisable. “She had been shot with a dumdum bullet,” he claimed.

The problem is that the police are totally infiltrated by insurgents. They can use their official titles to blames the US and spread propaganda.

The Philadelphia Inquirer story is an example. Now the Times and their Jihadist reporters.

One thing: the US has absolutely decide how to deal with a hostile world media when fighting a war.

From "P fromP's linked article:
"Both sides and neighbors agree that U.S. troops were involved in a firefight with a suspected member of al-Qaeda in Iraq."
It's evidently what exactly happened, not any doubt about who was present. All sides, including US, concur that Us troops were involved. It's what they were involved in that is now being discussed.

The press will stop at NOTHING to undermine the war.

I don't even have to read past the first couple of sentences to know this is false.

They also have NO comprehension of the countless ways our military goes out of their way to avoid harming innocents, and how often, by doing so, it puts their LIVES at risk.

"This is preposterous."

Yes but the story could still be important - I haven't seen the refuting story which means there are probably a bunch of Americans and Brits who haven't. It's also a safe bet that the countering story didn't make it into the Iraqi press at all.

So false stories can still have impact.

Looks staged to me. The civilians were caught in the crossfire and then the infiltrated police staged the bodies to look like an execution and the media was only to happy to comply. Although since this story was not given wide circulation, even the media doubted this farce.

I notice the terminology in the Times story rampaging. It's a joke.
Also, I notice these stories surface whenever the US goes on an offensive. Bodies are found everyday in Iraq killed by the insurgents and the worldwide media doesn't care except to reflect on the lack of security. When the US tries to do something to improve security, they are rampaging monsters.

Do we know how long this operation took? I have a hard time believing that our troops are taking fire AND binding and blindfolding women and children with the objective of executing them. Sounds more like they were already bound and used as pawns, but that's just me.

We are at war...The Iraqi military (what was left of it) surrendered almost as quickly as the war started...

Now, the war is with the people...They must surrender willingly, or unwillingly...

When they finally understand the consequences of war, we will win...

I say win the war, at all costs...

I don't believe a word of this story - not ONE word!

And I continue to pray for the destruction of the liberal media. Where are Dan, Peter and Tom now by the way?

I believe the dead bodies are bound and blindfolded after by locals and the police, unfortunately many are insurgents, after the battle. IOW, it is staged. The media was trying very hard last week to get a My Lai story going. This was one and the AP had another.

The Times is a hoot. They are always running with the US soldiers bad, UK soldiers good stuff.

When I first read it I thought it was the New York Times and I though, this is awful, even for them. I laughed when I saw that it was the Times and their Bathhists reporters.

This crime scene has the hallmarks of a terrorist operation minus the beheading.

Just ask yourself, "WWHD?" (What Would HAMAS Do?)

Remember the fraudulent Pali video "proving" the IDF murdered the poor little kid, while his 'innocent civilian' father tried to protect him?

"The needle on mine bent it pegged so hard."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Easy cure; remove top 2/3 of needle and super glue a pain brush bristle in its place. It'll never kink again.
I just don't believe this. Who is Khalaf? They never really give any substantive details in this story.
I suspect this is fiction.
I find it hard to believe there are only after action reports and pictures. I would think the media wouldn't been on scene within moments. It is, afterall, a hot bed of activity. Maybe I'm wrong........
