Im enraged folks, at a single quote from this column that was forwarded to me today. The column starts by saying that The Internet continues to confound Congress and the courts when it comes to free speech.
Uh, excuse me? What right does the congress and the courts have to be thinking about it AT ALL?
The only thing they are allowed to do is PROTECT the current freedoms we have that already exist.
Even more disturbing is the quote from the article which states that The Federal Elections Commission will decide Monday whether political blogs like the conservative Free Republic or the liberal Daily Kos should fall under the McCain-Feingold Bill and should be forced to register with the FEC.
This is not something that should take place in a free society.
Registration with the FEC opens a pandoras box that cant be closed again, and when that happens its over.
Oh, but it will ensure honesty and fairness, you say.
That may be true, but what it wont ensure is freedom, a word Im repeating ad nauseam in this article because its a concept that this country seems to have lost sight of.
Freedom of speech is a simple prospect: either you have it, or you dont. I own this domain name and this web page, and as long as the company who hosts it on their server doesnt have a problem with what I write, then I can get paid however I want by whomever I want and post anything I want, and so can moveon.org and freerepublic.com.
THAT IS FREEDOM.
Screwing with that in any way whatsoever is government coercion, pure and simple.
I dont give a damn what the government says- weve sacrificed enough of our freedoms in this country over the years and Ive had it.
I will continue to operate this web site in the exact manner in which I do today, regardless of whatever laws are passed. I am willing to engage in willful civil disobedience if they screw with our right to unregulated internet free speech.
Men have gone to jail and/or died for lesser causes and Im willing to do both if necessary because Ive had it with government coercion!
If you agree with me, then get on the phone to your local congressman, senator, mayor, household pet, anyone and everyone who is interested and also those who arent.
Let them know youre mad as hell!
In plain English, here it is: THE INTERNET MUST REMAIN FREE FROM THE KIND OF GOVERNMENT REGULATION ALLUDED TO IN THIS ARTICLE.
If you agree with me, then contact your local officials, national officials, and elected officials that you dont even know and aren't in your district.
If you disagree with me dont bother emailing me because you wont change my mind and frankly I dont care!
The internet is the last free place on earth and if the government gets its slimy scaly wretched hands on it, ITS ALL OVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Vote McCain!
ROFLMAO!!!!!
If it's not Bush's fault, I'm not interested.
Wow, did you write the scripts for Max Headroom??
Heck, they're trying to get us to vote McCain in order to get Hillary back in. GAG!!
I'm rooting for The Lump. Ignore stupid laws!
...which is why the MSM are all for it (and specifically exempt from the ban). This would re-establish their monopoly of information flow. McCain is pandering to the KingMakers like nobody's business.
Give me a break Bump.
If McCain gets the nomination, that to me is a guarantee of Hillary being POTUS because I sure as hell am not going to vote for him. I like my rights too much.

Should be repeated often in as many places as possible.

"Wisely, they put in a 2nd Amendment as a fallback mechanism."
Seems to me that even when the government starts to think along the lines of what is stated in the article that the "fallback mechanism" should be in full force.

NEVER FORGET
If we Vietnam Vets had had http://www.Freerepublic.com as our weapon to fight against the TV Lies the Anti-Freedom media and...
(sound familiar..?)
HILLARY RODHAM
BILL CLINTON
JOHN KERRY
TED KENNEDY
WALTER CRONKITE
DAN RATHER
BARBARA BOXER
JESSE JACKSON ..and all..
...were telling the American People about our fight for Freedom in Vietnam long ago,
...the once Free People of South Vietnam would still be Free today.
Instead we have these to sadly look at and to quickly learn from:

For these same Anti-U.S. Activists would still have it all happen again here now with Freedom at stake at home and in the Middle East.
For...
the enemy is now within...
...and always has been.
The "With Liberty and Justice for all" words from our American Pledge of Allegiance are not just empty words.
They define the new Liberty Century we live in,
...if we are to be true to ourselves...
...and remain Free.

Yeah, there will be those that will accuse me of 'throwing away' my vote. Whatever...the lesser of two evils is still evil. The Constitution party is the closest to my political leanings.
I have already read their platform, and agree with it 99%.
If there is no acceptable Repub candidate in '06 where I am, I will vote Constitution Party. If the Repubs nominate McCain in '08, I will vote Constitution Party again. If the Repubs keep going the direction they have been on issues that are important to me, I won't even keep looking to see who they are running in a particular election.
The only way a third party gets off the ground is when the Repubs and Dems are next to impossible to tell apart. On too many issues it's getting that way.
So the FEC is now deciding what is or is not constitutional based on CFR which is obviously unconstitutional? Do I have that right?

God bless you Ronnie, Outstanding!
Thanks to all of you... fallen, remaining and presently fighting for freedom... we will never forget.
