(Denny Crane: "I Don't Want To Socialize With A Pinko Liberal Democrat Commie. Say What You Like About Republicans. We Stick To Our Convictions. Even When We Know We're Dead Wrong.")
I heard this today and it was one of Rush's finest.
That man is such a great thinker.
Absolutely the greatest political analyst of our time.
Katie should then make the observation that what has 'saved communism' is indeed 'capitalism' and explain how capitalism is the superior system.
If communism is so good howed that happen
Rush was on fire today God Bless Ronny
BWAHAHAhahahahahahaha! Rush is great!
Build a huge wall with machinegun towers and kill zones to keep people from escaping. Next, set up mile long rope lines so the people can wait for hours for toilet paper, food, shoes, etc... at the local collective store. Imprison anyone who complains in a jail cell that is even worse than the community housing bloc. Imprison anyone who practices religion. Imprison anyone who attempts entrepenuership. Imprison anyone that dares to start another political party. Imprison anyone who...this could take all night.
I'm sure he has.
America Beyond Capitalism. I'm afraid we're there already.
Agreed!
Rush Bump!
Name all communist countries that people flee from. Then name all the communist countries where people flee to. Then name all the capitalist countries flee from. Then the capitalist countries they flee too.
Now break the above down further. People fleeing communism to communism. Communism to capitalism. Capitalism to capitalism. And capitalism to communism.
Next communist countries that have succeeded with communism. Communism that has reverted to some form of capitalism to succeed. Capitalism that has succeeded. Capitalism that had to revert to communism to succeed.
Next. A professor will always point to the "failings" of capitalism. So compare the perceived "failings" of capitalism versus the factual failings of communism.
Communists always laud communisms "success", but cold hard facts don't match up, with their views. Likewise their views of capitalism, the facts don't match their views.
Thanks for the post!
I was listening during lunch and I had to leave.
One argument though, if I were a socialist I could stay and listen because I wouldn't need to go back to work.
It was the Old Loveable Fuzzball at his finest.

CALLER: I think the professor would probably have a heart attack if he found out I called you for help, but I really -- like if you ever come to Michigan --
ROTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Is it "truth to power" or "power to truth" LOL? Whichever it is, it's a powerful truth:
RUSH: Who can...? If I could explain a liberal to you, Katie, I would be even wealthier than I am. I can't understand 'em. It's as though they hate the country. It's as though they've got a big problem, and I think in large part there's guilt. I think they look at the prosperity and they believe this notion that we're only rich -- remember, nothing happens unless some elite control it. So they look at our prosperity and they look at Africa and they say ,"We must have stolen all the resources from Africa. We're stealing all the oil. We're stealing all the diamonds. We're stealing all of this; we're stealing all of that, and now we're polluting the planet, and we're destroying the end of the planet with global warming. We are horrible people," and that's how I think they look at themselves. They're a bunch of egalitarians -- and it's basically I think they're self-loathing. I think the bottom line is, Katie, they don't even like themselves, and they don't want to like you, and they want everybody to be like them, and so they spread this stuff around. Not that they don't seriously believe it, they do, but self-loathing is the root to understanding a liberal.
Somebody should sneak this into the DU.
They'd all die of heart attacks.
Actually, I think that I DO understand them.
St. Paul, writing to the Romans, said of his own nation, that they, "being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, did not subject themselves to the righteousness of God." (Romans 10.3)
Well, this is the same thing that happens with liberals. We've all heard that they want to "feel good about themselves", but what does that mean? I say, they want to feel righteous. Of course, they don't admit to any universal standard of righteousness--can't have any absolutes, you know--so instead, they aim to establish themselves as more righteous than <insert your favorite target here>. (The target can be any reputable institution or person, the more generally revered, the better.)
They do this by criticizing, faultfinding, preachy fingerpointing, and that. No logical consistency is required for these things, just a sense that the critics are possessed of a virtue superior to that of the target simply because they are able to point out how reprehensible it is.
Rush has said that liberalism is a "gutless choice." I would second that by pointing out that this critical spirit is directly attributable to the gutlessness of liberalism. Anybody can be a critic, especially so as part of a mob. And you completely avoid the pesky business of thinking up and working out real accomplishments with the risk of failure.
They are a sad lot, aren't they?
