U.S. Sen. Chuck Hagel, R-Nebraska, may have earned some brownie points when he announced his complete support for keeping New Hampshires status as the first presidential primary state. He also congratulated Seacoast residents on the successful effort to save the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard.
Hagel, who is considering a run for president, spoke to about 50 people at the Sheraton Hotel Tuesday morning.
Hagel said the country needs entitlement reform.
"Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid represent almost half of our budget," said Hagel. "They are programs that are mathematically impossible to sustain. We need a new way to deliver health care in this country. There are 77 million baby boomers coming up and we will crush the infrastructure. This is $400 billion a year we are spending that we dont have."

The best I can say for him is that he's better than McCain. I think.

Only 50 people turned out to hear the RINO. Wow, let's hear it for Hagel! ;-)

Chuck Hagels' only purpose for existing is to protect Nebraska businesses from the immigration authorities.

You supported McCain, who criticized Christians, Sen Hagel. Don't expect any support from me, or from anyone I know.
I don't really know who will run yet, and don't have any idea who I'll vote for. LOL, I voted for two Catholics before this, (Buchanan in '92 and '96, and Keyes in 2004), so hopefully a conservative "protestant" will be the best choice in 2008...

I will vote for Hillary before I vote for Hagel. At least she supports her own side of the aisle. Hagel is a jerkwad who screws his own side over just for the attention.

Good. He will take 'rat crossover votes away from McCain. The more RINOs the better.
Now we just need a good conservative to come along and claim the prize.

Hagel is a globalist who will ultimately sell us out to the UN.

Believe me, it's not a compliment if I say that Hagel is a little better than McCain.
Fortunately, I think his chances of getting the nomination are zero. If he really thinks otherwise, he's delusional.

Between Hagel and McCain, I hate to say it but I would take McCain who actually supports the War on Terror versus the spineless wimp from NE!

Eyes on the Whitehouse is about as close as Hagel is going to get to it.
