[history]
Now hear this:
Thanks to John McCain, Free Republic will shut down tomorrow at high noon for 30 days. No non government approved electioneering messages may be transmitted over the internet for the 30 days immediately preceding a primary election.
That is all.
The above exercise was just a drill. But if John McCain has his way with his proposed rules for regulating political free speech on the internet, this is how we will be forced to operate in the coming election cycle and all election cycles in the future until we can get the unconstitutional McCain-Feingold act repealed.

I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore!
If the thought of losing your right to express yourself online makes you mad, it is high time you let Senator John McCain know how you feel.

I am and it will be true if McCain has his way with us.
To: pbrown
Yes and no about out of country sites.
As I see it, we are, at best, playing a long shot catch-up.
The powers that be have virtually all the nuts and bolts hard, tangible power on their side.
We have prayer, right, God, and the power of all of us acting together.
But look at the lengths Jim has to go to get us this energized.
And we could be slapped down any number of ways that could take a long time to recover from, if at all.
That's why I'd like a multiplicity of other options including out of country. Lives will ultimately depend on us having a multiplicity of options. FREEPER LIVES, and FREEPERS' FAMILIES' LIVES and the lives of others we love and care for.
Of course, ultimately, only God can save us from the dark forces loose in the world and our own beloved land. But we must still do what we can while cooperating wholesale with God, first and foremost.

We can only pray that a sane and strong person steps up to the plate in 2008. Bush has his faults, but I am grateful to have him as our leader, and wish he could run again.

supposedly the plan is to take Constitutionalists and Bible believing Christians from their homes at 04:00 immediately to the death camps to get them out of the way just prior to the establishment of martial law . . . all those on the RED and BLUE lists.
That's what the foreign troops already within our borders are supposedly really here for. "Training" is reportedly a cover story.

Thank you for putting "this is a drill" on the headline; seriously, I was nearly in tears. Without FreeRepublic, it would be soooo hard to get anything done around this country.
Time to saddle up and blog.
To: Junior_G
Those of us who support President Bush have not "lost faith" in him. Do we agree with him signing CFR? No we don't. However, we are not going to trash a good man because he has done things we don't agree with.
If this was the case, then everyone better start demonizing Ronald Reagan for raising taxes, amnesty for illegal aliens, etc.

What was he really thinking when he signed it? "I love the smell of big government in the morning....." Perhaps . . . only perhaps . . .
that he'd live longer than if he didn't.

If that stupid law could shut down Free Republic, it would sure as hell shut down the RNC Team Leader program.
I don't make a freaking dime by forwarding information to those on my lists, and calling and writing letters to the editor.
I wonder if that slime-ball McCain had that in mind ?
I guess I'll have to stop spending every election day calling people to remind them to vote ?

IT IS ALL BUSH'S FAULT AFTER ALL....We owe John McCain a hugh apology...
