Senior Muslim clerics demanded Thursday that an Afghan man on trial for converting from Islam to Christianity be executed, warning that if the government caves in to Western pressure and frees him, they will incite people to "pull him into pieces."
"Rejecting Islam is insulting God. We will not allow God to be humiliated. This man must die," said cleric Abdul Raoulf, who is considered a moderate and was jailed three times for opposing the Taliban before the hard-line regime was ousted in 2001.

So, what was that about Islam being a "religion of peace"? And that guy calling for the death of the man who convert to Christianity is a moderate? So much for that garbage that the moderates of Islam are the "real" face of the religion. This guy sounds like the so-called "extremists".
Bush needs to make a quick phone call to Hamid right now and end this. That is if he wants his party to win the 2006 elections. This is ridiculous.
neither are most of Iranians, but ever since the arabs bum rushed that region and forced everyone to convert to Islam, they are all now one and the same.

This is the genie in the bottle we released - the true face of Islam. Islam has only ONE face - a bad one.
The U.S. should make it perfectly clear that human rights violations, including violations of freedom of religion will simply NOT be tolerated in any of our client states - including Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia and Iraq.

You must learn to read between the lines to differentiate between "culture" and "religion" in this part of the world.
Think of them as the nastiest, most clanish, duplicitous, dishonest and sneaky hillbillies you've ever met or heard about.
This is the place the Assyrians took Israel too ~ and Alexander the Great found a wife who could ride horses, hunt, use a rope and a spear, and was flatchested ~ his kinda' girl (although I've seen thousands of others around here from there and they look like normal girls).
They do respond to power, which is why I suggested Karzai taking the clerics out and executing them. It'll get the Americans off his back (about the religion thing) and also get rid of the noisiest, most troublesome of the clerics. Besides, these people are Sunni and they are not supposed to have clerics, so time to purify their mode of worship!

We shouldn't be in the nation-building/policing business, especially in Islamic countries (where the chance of success is dim at best). Our armed forces are not peacekeepers, they're warriors. If we believe a regime is a threat, then destroy its military might and kill its leadership. Leave the nation-building to the survivors. If they're wise they'd build a nation that behaves, as they'd have first-hand knowledge of the consequences if they don't.
So if Islam has its way and takes over the US, we will all be forced to convert to Islam. That is the way they want it! This cult religion needs to be taken out but it continues to try to dominate the world. Looks like the return to the Crusades is in order.
The survivors simply live on, but now in abject poverty.
Afghanistan has been through this recently ~ the Soviets came in and crushed the country. Then they left ~ the Afghans thrashed about killing yet more millions and then AlQaida came in.
Osama Bin Laden took Afghanistan into very dangerous waters ~ so we crushed them again.
It's time to put a stop to this cycle.
Muslim leaders aren't the only new "Pharisees". There are many in a lot of "modern" religions blindly taking their converts down a ditch. (Including many, So Called, Christian leaders)..
So if someone rounds up the clerics and "gets medieval on their ass" they'd still be a few centuries ahead?
