Many FReepers have posted exactly the same phrase here in public. Is Drudge out of ideas?
/////////////////////////////////////////////////////

Please! this wasn't said in public, it was an in house ABC news e-mail by a news producer's blackberry made while producing the broadcast of a Bush speech. "Bush makes me sick. If he uses the mixed messages line one more time I'm gonna puke.".
This is totally unprofessional and is another blatant example of media bias towards the left and against Pres. Bush in particular. These incidents must be publicized every time they are discovered. there are still many naive people in this country who think media bias is a figment of paranoid right wingers imaginations

Just yesterday the Washington AP beat writer was criticized by conservative blogs for writing an opinion hit piece and trying to pass it off as a news story about Bush's use of "straw men". The AP defended her and the story, saying it was good professional journalism. This is not the same as people expressing displeasure with elected officials on free republic or talk radio.

"Red Green" is the Canadian comedy show that takes place on Possum Lake.

"Red" Green is the name of the hateful, biased ABC executive who is now playing possum.

It is VERY important, in that it reveals to the ignorant public that the MSM has an agenda, and that their decisions of what to cover are based on their agenda.

You are so right! I found out this past fall, during the Katrina hullabaloo how the "general public" takes in news. I was talking to a friend from church who had recently discovered internet news and FNC (new subscriber to cable) and was stunned. She told me, "I always believed everything I heard on the news. I mean, I always thought, 'Why would they lie?' " It was as if her bubble was burst. She had been brought into a whole new realm. She cannot be the only one who feels this way, and for all the reasons you outlined so eloquently in your posts, I think it is very important that the media is exposed. They DO have a "dog in the fight" and the dog is NOT a conservative.

So what if it was a note passed on his blackberry~~ All these things add up (you know the trickle down effect), and sooner or later, the "masses" are going to start to wondering, "IS there a bias? Are we getting the whole picture? Does Karl Rove really control weather and voting machines?"

OK the last question was facetious, but only out in the real world. It is Truth in the swamps of DU.

Not necessarily but I see your point.

But your same point could be made of anyone anywhere. If you clearly slant Republican that could hold you back from promotions or depending on your boss glean you for promotions.

You could have your "positive" stories not published.. but then again why are you working for a company that won't publish your work based on the fact it's not what they want to hear?

Go work for fox news then.

In Virginia, they send notices to employers when Soc.Sec. numbers do not match up. The notice makes it clear to them that they cannot fire the employee. They can only tell the employee to give them correct information. Of course, they just don't show back up, move on to the next guy. And get this, the person who the SS# really belongs to does not get the money and the employer does not get a refund for the SS money they paid, either. It goes into "A Fund".

I see that Reagan man actually does real posting - so he doesn't look like one of the dem plants who get on these threads early on and try to put ice on a nice story with traction.

It's been a somewhat effective tool to counteract FR for some time now. These threads routinely gets 100s of useless one liner jokes - I've asked Jim about it and the moderators acknowledge its "the other side" at play.

All that said, I don't see why anyone needs to explain defending the governing President elected by conservatives when the option is what, getting a Democrat elected President? Reagan Man, you seem like a perfect backbench minority party kind of guy. Unity isn't a bad thing.

This story should, if it doesn't get squashed, affect people's pysche. A friend who's a bit of a TV celebrity in my community admitted to me today that maybe today's "journalists" are overplaying their part and not so much focused on news as popularity. That's a big step for him. Also acknowledged that maybe his newsroom is too wrapped up in the echochamber to realize the extent of their bias. You get enough of these stories, it may sink in. That does more for conservatism than posting 20 articles about how we should boot out all illegals and send those that employ them to Alcatraz.

I'm thinking old backup tape or hard drive sold off when servers were replaced. Someone got hold of it and scanned the contents just for grins then struck gold. Don't forget that sysadmins have access to all email messages and unless you encrypt, NEVER assume that just the recipient reads your message traffic.

>>>>>I see that Reagan man actually does real posting ...

LOL Well, for someone whose made roughly 60-65 posts in the last year, you don't sound like a serious member of the conservative movement, the Republican Party or Free Republic for that matter. You haven't been involved in any serious debates on FR that I can remember and I've been here a year longer then you have.

>>>>Reagan Man, you seem like a perfect backbench minority party kind of guy.

Since you don't have your facts straight, I understand why you reach such ignorant conclusions. Fact is, you don't know me at all. But I'll tell you this. After almost 40 years a Republican and Reagan conservative, one thing I've learned in politics. Empty headed know-nothings like you, are a dime a dozen.

Interestingly, the term "cretin" was used by the Romans to describe Swiss who suffered from Iodine deficiency (due to poor soil) (hypothyroidism) and thus suffered from a lack of physical and mental development.

In other words, they were impish retards. Sounds about right.

(Just a factoid I learned today that I thought I'd pass on.)

Reagan Man, while you spent considerable time criticizing my opinions and mocking hoyaloya, I see that you still have failed to answer my questions: why are you so determined to downplay this story?

Several people besides me have pointed out the importance of this story to ALL conservatives. You want us instead to concentrate on criticizing the President. I would appreciate your explanation of why you think a conservative web site (which probably has a high percentage of Republicans) should ignore this story and concentrate on three issues which are particularly divisive, both on this forum and in the party as a whole.

While I frequently discuss those issues and do not intend that they be ignored, I do not think that the site should concentrate only on those issues.

I don't see you on car chase threads telling people to concentrate on illegal immigration instead, for example. So why is THIS thread your chosen target?

I am not apologizing for my support for the President, nor am I going to allow your constant insults to me and other Bush supporters to deter me from speaking my mind.

You are very unlike Ronald Reagan, by the way.

"In Virginia, they send notices to employers when Soc.Sec. numbers do not match up. The notice makes it clear to them that they cannot fire the employee."

They do that as well in CA. In CA when the employer confronts the illegal with that SS notice, the illegals go to the "immigrant" groups with cottage industry lawyers who give them letters threatening lawsuits while they supposedly 'investigate' the problem with the SS#'s.

In other words a huge scam that SS is not helping the employers deal with in any meaningful manner.

Another problem in CA is even if illegals appear with plainly phony documentation, the threat of discrimination lawsuits from "immigrant groups: are incredible.

Also, as you say the SS money paid by the employer is not refunded.

A bald fact that is hugely ignored in this debate: no one can adequately address immigration without taking on the lawyers, the "immigrant" groups and the SS Administration for not allowing firing of someone presenting phony documentation.

I really didn't want to address this topic on this thread but people pop up on every thread, ranting about illegal immigration. This gives them a project, contacting Congress to get them busy on this aspect of immigration reform.

Excellent point, that is certainly another way this message went "astray" and ended up in the hands of Matt Drudge.

Mining hard drive delete files has to bring wide grins to network administrators.

I hope Drudge wasn't just teasing with the hints that there are more...
