Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton ratcheted up her talk about religion yesterday - saying a GOP-sponsored bill making it a felony to be in the United States illegally would have "criminalized" Jesus.
Clinton, who's considered the Democratic front-runner for the 2008 White House race, made the comments at a hastily scheduled news conference about the House-passed bill aimed at illegal immigrants.

All true - now can you answer my question: Would Jesus or the Good Samaritan just give the person a nice meal and a bus ticket home?
The issue didn't arise in that parable. The Hebrew was in his home country. The Samaritan was visiting, but Roman rule forced that to be legal.
This is warning of what happens when a nation isn't obedient to God. The following is another warning specifically mentioning aliens :
Malachi 3: 5 "So I will come near to you for judgment. I will be quick to testify against sorcerers, adulterers and perjurers, against those who defraud laborers of their wages, who oppress the widows and the fatherless, and deprive aliens of justice, but do not fear me," says the LORD Almighty.
That manger was a really tight fit for the Virgin Mary though.
Hillary is so religious. I guess I was wrong about her being anti religion, anti God, and anti American. I think she must be the greatest.... I can't say a good thing about the bitch.
If "aliens" owned property according to the law, they couldn't just have it stolen.
But if they stole that property, it was by all means just to give it back to the original owner.
3 questions 1) What did Jesus say about loving our neighbor? 2) Is an alien a neighbor? 3) What is loving response to an alien who is your neighbor?
It appears I make a distinction between secure borders and what the bible says about treating aliens. I do not see these as contrary to each other.
We obviously disagree on who qualifies as our "neighbor" then.
You avoided my questions from earlier.
The theology of Robin Hood is not the theology of the Bible.
Well, I only said "possibly" - it was worth a try at least - we will have to agree to disagree then.
Help the poor guy to get back to Mexico.
Jesus WAS crucified as a criminal.
Nevertheless, Clinton's comments are nothing but an untestable hypothesis contrary to established fact.
She is just trading in emotionalism, as most of the politicos do.
"3 questions 1) What did Jesus say about loving our neighbor? 2) Is an alien a neighbor? 3) What is loving response to an alien who is your neighbor?"
Answer what instruction did Christ give about keeping civil law? Loving that alien and/or your neighbor fits within the latter 5 of the 10 Commandments. I have not seen these that demand the ignoring of one law putting up a stand to protect that requirement of Christ.
Doctrine of a church does NOT usurp the rights of anyone.
Oh why it is certainly a loving response to a neighbor to help him continue to perpetuate a crime.
Please cite chapter and verse where Jesus offered assistance based on such a condition as that?
I know how you feel - I've never agreed with anything Hillary has supported (including her opposition to the ports deal - did you side with her that time?), but she's correct on this one.
The New Testament of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ just happens to include Romans 13.
I suspect you know the difference between a stranger and millions of illegals. I can easily find just as many verses where God told the Israelites to not mix with strangers or aliens. Obviously you must also agree that the Israelis must not enforce laws against Palestinians. We should open our borders to all people no matter what disease they have, what nation they come from and let them devour our inheritance in our presence. Is there a point a Christian can protect himself? This is not one stranger wandering the city, this is 12 million invading America with no intention of honoring our laws. Do you really think God is instructing the Jews to entreat aliens who went to Israel to break the laws of the land?
Justice to the illegal alien would be to deport him. Would it not?
