Kean arrives too late to be seen with Cheney at event He blamed bad traffic. The fund-raiser in Newark was aimed at ousting U.S. Sen. Robert Menendez. By Cynthia Burton Inquirer Staff Writer
NEWARK, N.J. - Vice President Cheney flew into this depressed city yesterday to embrace the New Jersey GOP's hope of taking out a Democratic U.S. senator in a blue state.
There was a problem, though. Likely Republican candidate Thomas H. Kean Jr. missed his speech.
Kean, a state senator, said he left a legislative session in Trenton shortly after 4:15, got stuck in traffic that was snarled by vice presidential security and jogged down Newark's Broad Street to reach the fund-raiser.
He arrived just as the music playing after Cheney's speech - "The Stars and Stripes Forever" - was winding down.
Kean, perspiring, said to reporters, "I just got here. I ended up running down the street to get here."

Vice President Cheney Due in Newark Today
Is junior a jerk like his father?
Hmmm...maybe he's not as "puhfect" as his bee-stung faced dad.
Kean, Jr. is an anti-freedom jerk. This FReeper will not be voting Republican if Kean, Jr. is the Republican nominee. (No, I won't vote for the Democrat either. I'll either vote for the Libertarian or sit on my hands.)

Jerk. or idiot. whatever...
What a surprise, Kean, Jr. managed to miss being seen with Dick Cheney. You can take the RINO out of the country club, but you can't take the country club out of the RINO.
If Kean is too ashamed to be seen with the Vice President, maybe Vice President Cheney should attend fundraisers for conservatives who appreciate what he's done for his country, such as Rick Santorum.
That makes two of us. Although I am not sure about voting Libertarian.

There are times to stand firm on principle even if there's political risk, and there are times to cut your losses and settle for a little of something instead of a lot of nothing.
The Kean/Menendez falls in the second catagory. New Jersey conservatives should keep Kean For Senate signs in the air and barf bags in their pockets.
Compared to whom, Reagan?

Nope, F*** Kean
If Kean were at least as right wing as Arlen Specter or Olympia Snowe I would agree with you, but he's a ultra left wing puke who is only a Republican because of Nepotism.
There is no way in hell I will be voting for this ŧ§¶¤[ no matter who he is running against.
Was some bro chasing him?
I just posted your point at the NJ Locale. The GOP Brunch is this weekend and I know that board gets lurked.
He was on time for McCain I was there lol
