North Korea suggested Tuesday it had the ability to launch a pre-emptive attack on the United States, according to the North's official news agency. A Foreign Ministry spokesman said the North had built atomic weapons to counter the U.S. nuclear threat."As we declared, our strong revolutionary might put in place all measures to counter possible U.S. pre-emptive strike," the spokesman said, according to the Korean Central News Agency. "Pre-emptive strike is not the monopoly of the United States."
Last week, the communist country warned that it had the right to launch a pre-emptive strike, saying it would strengthen its war footing before joint South Korea-U.S. military exercises scheduled for this weekend.
The spokesman also said it would be a "wise" step for the United States to cooperate on nuclear issues with North Korea in the same way it does with India.
Earlier this month, President Bush signed an accord in India that would open some of its atomic reactors to international inspections in exchange for U.S. nuclear know-how and atomic fuel.
The accord was reached even though New Delhi has not signed the international Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty. North Korea has withdrawn from the treaty.
If that pilot is really good he can get that B-52 so low no radar would ever see him can he do why hell yes.
a terrorist first strike nuke strike by the combined forces of the NK, Iran, Cuba, Venezuela could be problematic.
Throwing tantrums and making threats does not get you a seat at the grownup table.
Nikita? Welcome to FR. I thought you were dead.
Nice. :)
"I wonder. There are far too many anti-American politicians high up I the running.
Fortunately, the traitor who ran for President in 2004 lost
Next time we not be so lucky."
I fully understand your pessimism......
That being said, the minute that little knob in North Korea pushes that button, I am pretty confident that the Anti-America scumbags in Washington will disappear. The fist one that pops off about how we somehow "deserved it", will likely find themself being drawn and quartered.....deservedly so.
I do believe that there are more of us (TRUE PATRIOTS) than there of "them". We just don't get the coverage in the MSM.
One thing Kim should keep in mind is that after statements like that, the next time they have war games, we might get the wrong impression and it may turn into more than a game.
well - what if kim isn't interested in surviving ?
Kim and Chavez and Ahmadinejad better pray that nobody takes them seriously.
And how would you like your Kimchee sir, hot, extra hot or radioactive?
Always let the bum swing first.
What in the wide, wide world of sports is goin' on here?
No one can really say what range their new generation missiles are and if they have the capability of carrying an atomic warhead accurately.
Since it's not been tested, the delivery system can't be evaluated.
But who would want to on the receiving end of that test?
That would be the CRM 117 discriminator.
Ever notice that little Kim is the only fat Korean in that country?
Monaco, Sealand, or Togoland could strike first, too.
I have had friends from overseas visit, and they just did not grasp how big this place is. They assumed, when visiting us in New England, that they would get on a bus that evening, and see the Grand Canyon the next morning.
