I loathe daylight saving time. Why not just change it half an hour once and be done with it?

Changing the clocks with the seasons was introduced in Iran in 1990 to try to reduce energy consumption. The way the country is heading it will soon have a soft green glow 24/7.

Does anybody remember an episode of Seinfeld where Kramer decided not to change his watch and hilarity ensued?

Yeah so much for the Nuclear power plant rationale. If Iran is hurting for energy so badly it needs a nuclear power plant then why would the government cause more energy usage by ignoring daylight savings time.
More proof they want the bomb.

This is great news! Remember the suicide bombers who blew up in their car because Palestine didn't set their clocks to DST? More funny terrorist hijinks to follow. :)

In the same presidential decree, Ahmadinejad said that students returning from New Years holidays must turn up for school at 7 am instead of 8am, and public officers will open an hour earlier, at 7.30 am local time. So they're doing exactly the same thing without adjusting the clocks. DST is just a way of enforcing "Early to bed, early to rise..."

Let me make a suggestion to help you crazy Iranians out:
Set your clocks to a few minutes before midnight and leave them there. That's what time it is for you losers.

Why not just abolish watches and clocks afterall the sun was all they needed in the 6th century. Besides these technologies were the inventions of infidels ... all the more reason to abolish them.

I, ruler of the West, have decided to outlaw the question mark, forthwith.
Any Questions.
No.
Was that a question.
I don't know.
What do you mean.
Was that a question.
What.
Do you mean to declare what, or to . . . IT DOESN'T MATTER.
MY WORD IS LAW!
Violate this, and I will ban the comma.

Finally, something I can agree with the crazy Iranian dictator on. I hate to think of '07 when OUR dictators have decided that DST will start the first weekend in March and end the last weekend in November. Did we get to vote on this gross inconvenience to anyone with children, or anyone who has to travel in the dark to their jobs for nine months of the year? Of course not. Some lobbyists whose industries think this is a swell idea have paid off the legislators and we, like Pavlov's dogs, just have to fall into line. Disgusting.
