Bush warns Iran on Israel

US President George W. Bush said he hoped to resolve the nuclear dispute with Iran with diplomacy, but warned Tehran he would "use military might" if necessary to defend Israel.

"The threat from Iran is, of course, their stated objective to destroy our strong ally Israel. That's a threat, a serious threat. It's a threat to world peace," the US president said after a speech defending the war in Iraq.

"I made it clear, and I'll make it clear again, that we will use military might to protect our ally Israel," said Bush, who was apparently referring to Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's call for the destruction of Israel.

On the atomic dispute, Bush said he hoped "to solve this issue diplomatically" with a "united message" to Tehran from Washington, London, Paris, Berlin as well as Russia "hopefully" and China.

The message would be that "your desire to having a nuclear weapon is unacceptable," he said.

Bush also touched on Iran's agreement to discuss Iraq with the United States, saying that "it's very important, however, for the Iranians to understand that the discussion is limited to Iraq.

"We're using this as an opportunity to make it clear about our concerns of interference within a democratic process that is evolving," he said, saying that the talks will not decide Iran's relations with a sovereign Iraq.

"Ultimately, Iraq-Iranian relations will be negotiated between the Iraqi government and the Iranian government," he said.

I think our intelligence knows something that the public doesn't know...>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

For starters they have the location of each and every nuclear research and, production lab, and reactor complex involved or potentially involved in the production of fissile material, as well as rocket production facilities.

The USA and the Israelis have been collecting the data for years.

They also likely have nap of the earth routes determined to approach and destroy these targets by air, as well as well rehearsed covert SOG teams ready to act as designator teams and /or demolition teams for those sites too hardened to succumb to the deep penetration ordnance the USAF has now developed.

The President doesn't rattle his sabre unless he's good to go.

These next few months promise to be interesting

These Iranian Rag Head politicos had better cop to the talks, or many of them will be glowing in the dark for years to come.

Last summer I read Congressman Weldon's book and he basically says that Iran is behind all of the terror and has a plan to nuke the US. This could explain why we went into Iraq -- to surround Iran the really scary enemy.

"The President should just delegate public discussion of this issue to Cheney who manages every time to put it in good perspective and, at the same time, make the Dims look foolish."

The Dims don't need anyone's help to look foolish.

Hey Flav babes,

You clearly haven't been getting the truth. When you posit your provocation:

"Do you think we:

1) Should send MORE American boys to die in the middle east to satisfy Booosh's lust to invade Iran, or

2) just cut & run in Iraq and elect Democrats this fall?"

You seem to forget that Dimocratz have undermined or attempted to undermine every positive step that GWB and his administration have advanced. You also seem to be avoiding the facts insofar as the good news coming out of Iraq, e.g., the continually improving infrastructure, the continually changing balance of troops always tipping further and further toward Iraqi's vs. U.S. You seem also to be avoiding the fact that the folks fighting against the U.S./Iraq side are by and large not Iraqi's but Iranian, Syrian and other nutzo killers (the other side in that war sounds a lot like GWB's enemies). If you don't understand why all those "others" would want to prevent a republic in the Mid East, look at a map of the mid east - even you might understand. You also seem to be avoiding the news which is becoming increasingly hard to ignore that weapons of mass destruction most definitely were a part of Saddam's plan.

I imagine you're also ignoring the likelihood that the dark side will not re-gain control of either house of Congress but in fact will lose additional seats. The Am people have brains.

Many of the problems GWB is fighting are the result of the most ethical administration in the history of the U.S. as her Thighness promised they would be.

Uncle Jacque. I hand to look twice to make sure it wasn't I who wrote your post.

Been saying the same things for years about the Saudis controlling our Middle East policy especially where Israel is concerned.

At no time have we intervened on Israel's behalf when she came under attack since she became a state.

We only show up to restrain her and pressure her to give back the God given spoils that are rightfully hers.

For that interference on our part America I believe has been under steadily increasing judgment from God since Israel's rebirth.

This I believe is the reason we have not had a decisive victory in any of our major military campaigns starting with Korea to the present.

Since we have hindered trough intense political pressure the ability of Israel to establish secure and recognizable borders God has seen that our own are no longer secure and become less recognizable everyday.By pressuring her to give up land that was providing a good deal of her income and pressuring her to provide for the very people who are out to destroy her we have put her economic well being in jepordy as well. I expect this country very soon to experience great economic troubles also.

In the Bible God has a habit of sending the same judgements that fall on Israel to those nations that where His instrument in applying them.

Jer 30:16 Therefore all they that devour thee shall be devoured; and all thine adversaries, every one of them, shall go into captivity; and they that spoil thee shall be a spoil, and all that prey upon thee will I give for a prey.

Jer 30:17 For I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith the LORD; because they called thee an Outcast, saying, This is Zion, whom no man seeketh after.

The event you see on the horizon is the event outlined in Ezekiel 38 & 39.

You seem to casually discount the weapons advancement the Germans were making in aircraft and rockets, despite the Allied bombing, something the Russians were utterly incapable of doing themselves...and the Russians were only able to hold the Germans off. Without the Western front the Germans would have re-grouped and Russian would have lost.

The reason the Germans were pressed for time and made some rash moves in the East was because they new the Americans were arming quickly and fighting both fronts would be impossible, and they were correct.

All Saudi Arabia has to do to collapse the American finiancial house of cards is begin to accecpt euros for oil and stop demanding for payment only in dollars.

Suddenly nobody will want to get American dollars at any price. Why else is China willing to sell us things at below cost over here to make them.

They need oil, and Ameirca has this deal with the house of Saud...

Maybe, it retrospect, we in America would have been best off letting the Communists and Nazis destroy each other

They would not have destroyed each other. Hitler would have won and exterminate as many if not more. Then he would have gone into Africa and exterminated all of them.

THEN Americans would have been facing a Nazi empire spanning half the globe and armed with IRBMs and ICBMs. Still think that would have been a good idea?

And there are currently an unusually high number of American Carrier Battle Groups cruising around in the Pacific practicing their skills. And this is to continue into summer. We are also advancing rapidly in various types of anti-missile tech. in close cooperation with the Japanese..

>> What's ironic (or not) is that after we began the liberation of Iraq, many on the left were saying, "We should have invaded Iran instead."

If there are video clips, I'm sure Rove will throw that back in their face when they start whining about Iran. The rats still don't fully understand that they don't control all means of information anymore.

1. Hamilton wrote the speech.
2. We were fortunate to have been born at a time when Islam was in retreat and we could hide behind the British empire. However, the US was willing to go so far as to attempt regime change to deal with the Barbary Pirates.
