Well, this new movie isn't going to be the sensation that Passion of the Christ was, obviously. Why on earth is he slamming the people who supported him?
For the miscellaneous ping list
i don't care if it's jessica simpson or mel gibson, there all hollywood liberals...
Awww...Mel. You had us at the "Passion" and you go and spoil it. We showed you the money and you go and turn on us. I guess we can't trust anyone.
I'm sorry to hear that Mel Gibson said that. I wonder if he was misquoted.
Odd. I'd like to hear him elaborate about how he thinks Pres. Bush is a 'fearmonger'. What exactly is Bush fearmongering about.....that the world is a messed up place and there are Islamo-whackos who want to blow stuff up?
Ooooooh, what a slam. Don't expect anyone to get up off the deck after being hit with that one. /s Does the headline tell us more about the headline writer's point of view than what Mr. Gibson thinks?
I saw the Passion twice at the theaters and bought the DVD, but if Mel insists upon slamming the President like this, he won't see another dime from me.
Maybe we should coin the "Mel Gibson's Brain Is Beginning To Go Wherever His Dad's Did" ping?
I wouldn't call that a slam, but it wasn't called for.
I'm sure this will make the MSM!
Mel, please explain why you are now reduced to titling movies from Jimmy Buffett songs?
I don't know about the quote but Gibson is more true to his principles than Bush is.
I question the agenda of the MSM and their desire to report the news accurately.
Act damn it, or direct, or write .. I really don't care. Just entertain me and otherwise STFU
I read the early review posted on Drudge. It seems to me that he was merely trying to get on the right side of the Hollywood establishment and hoping to deflect criticism of his movie, which probably has the potential of being taken two ways: As an admiring look at Mayan civilization, or as a politically incorrect attack on the Mayans for human sacrifice.
I don't think the remark about Bush was a serious comment, just a mild attempt to get the reviewer on his side and avoid another stint of being endlessly bashed by the media.
Maybe he should have been a bit less accommodating, but I don't hold it against him. I'm curious to see the movie.
This isn't news. Mel's a conservative, but more in the paleocon/Buchanan vein. He has said before he doesn't really agree with the Iraq war, although I'm pretty sure he still voted for Bush.
I've always reserved judgment about a guy who's made as many movies with Danny Glover as Gibson. Some of insanity has to rub off.
One thing for sure about Hollywood people, they will always find a way to bite the hand that feeds them....
