The reference by Iraqi intelligence to "joint operations" with bin Laden apparently contradicts one of the 9/11 Commission's most important findings: that Saddam had no "operational relationship" with al Qaeda.
Take note ... among the many myths these Iraqi documents should be disabusing people of is that the 9/11 Commission did any "fact finding."

An Iraqi intelligence document released last week indicates that Osama bin Laden sought to conduct "joint operations" with Saddam Hussein's regime six years before the 9/11 attacks - and was given the green light by the Iraqi dictator.Smoking Gun. During the run-up to the Iraq war, Abu Nidal, the terrorist was killed in his Baghdad apartment. I remember the anchor I was watching at the time closed one segment with something like, "And the case for Iraq and a connection to terrorism just has not been made." Turning to the next camera, this anchor who knows whats best for us, started the very next segment with something like this,"Today world famous terrorist, Abu Nidal, was found dead in his Baghdad apartment..."
I remember both me and my wife at the time commenting on the straight faced delivery..

Saddam had a very public standing offer of $25k to the family of every suicide bomber in Israel. For anyone to suggest with a straight face that he was not a major sponsor of terror is just ludicrous.

WE knew it then, but too many didn't and still don't. I work with a raving anti-Bush, anti-War in Iraq lib. He's all the time bringing me hare-brained DU type conspiracy theories. I asked him this morning about the document release and what he makes of the info coming out and of course he's heard nothing of it.
It's frustrating, but if he won't do the research himself I'll gladly print articles and put them in front of him.

For anyone to suggest with a straight face that he was not a major sponsor of terror is just ludicrous. But they did. The media tried very hard seperating "9-11 terrorism" with "conventional terrorism". While honest and reasonable people knew this was BS, a large number of Americans bought into it..

You may want to get on eyespysomething's ping list (if you are not already.)
This looks like this is going to start cross referencing over to Able Danger.

The Chimpy Hallibushitler crowd is going to paint this as a Middle Eastern version of Voice of America; propaganda from the other side, nothing more.

The depressing thing is that this should looping every 5 minutes with a "breaking news" segment on every media station. Unfortunately the media is our mortal enemy and we are stuck w/ Newsmax...oh and maybe World Net Daily

I agree with you. It's hard to know, considering the biased coverage in the media, but I am having a hard time remembering any Russian contractors or troops being beheaded. Now, Russia may not have troops in Iraq, I don't know. Does Russia have an embassy there? Is it ever threatened? The media may not cover it, or it may not be happening. Wonder if any of our troops that have been there have observed....
