I still want someone to ask johnFkerry about this.

I want him to tell us how the French are superior to us lowlife Americans. I want him to tell us what French looking elitists like him think of this situation.....

Where are the MSM's hard questions when you need them??

Let's hear it for the Poles and the Italians who put France on the map! :)

(Chopin's body is buried in Paris, but his heart is buried in Poland).

Well, no doubt that the media and the left would side with Muslims and appeasement (in this hypothetical scenario), but do you really think that our law enforcement agencies would cower in the face of rioting in the streets and burning cars?

I don't. But I guess I give our first responders more credit than you do.

Still tell me about the French

Jedoch bin ich deutsch. Die Franzosen sprechen vollkommenes Deutsches, heute. The French actually attacked Germany first, resulting in their occupation. There is no love lost for me, regarding the French. "Mann kann die Franzosen hassen, jedoch nicht genug." We may hate the French for their action, yet not enough. The way that the French behave is their way. Perhaps we Americans, or Germans, must impose upon them again. Their manners seem to have lapsed. As a proud American, I do not want to have to financially subsidize the French. As a genetic Hun, it would be fun to conquer them (again).

The law enforcement would support the courts who would side with and in fact are part of the liberal/leftist/apologetic/hate-America first crowd. So yes, I think our police would side with the Muslim lovers whether they want to or not, because if not, the courts would haul them up for hate crimes or for using anything that the lunatic courts would view as excessive force. Our law enforcement can't even enforce illegal immigration laws already on the books because of liberal, sympathetic judges who will support the illegals and prosecute law enforcement for trying to enforce the laws? Why would you think that they would they would be any more poised to put down Muslim rioters or violence with any degree of firmess, when they would be prosecuted for enforcing the laws?

One more thing. The French best military division is the "La Legion Etrangere" or "The Foreign Legion" which is made mostly by foreign mercenaries.

I'm sorry, but you're mixing two separate issues, IMO. If any group of people were in the streets of a U.S. city burning cars and rioting, they would be stopped by law enforcement.

The MSM would try to spin it against the police, but violence done by anyone would be stopped. I completely disagree with your premise, so it's probably best for me not to discuss this further. Thanks.

"I thank G-d every day that my grandparents got out of there."

I do the same. My friend says that although her ancestors were not socially or intellectually superior, they got one thing right. They were smart for the brief time it took them to figure out that if they sold the pig and got down to the dock on time, their grandkids would bless them forever.

She says she heard the "pig to dock" story, or read it, but believes most of us here owe a huge debt to those who made it possible for us to be born here.

The movie "Pelei the Conqueror" is a jolting reminder of how constrained by custom and poverty the old world was and is. I think that this visceral memory haunts most Americans, and that the alien doctrines of the fanatical Left represent to those of us born free, the old, master/slave bondage.

Most, if not all of us here, are not descended from the "masters." We are suspicious of "masters" who will "take care of us."

I think that Kerry seemed to many of us to be an exagerrated cartoon of a "master," of what Europe judged to be best for us. They adored him. And the media powers who gathered in Al Franken's NYC apartment to plot Kerry's primary victory, were, for the most part, children of the Revolutionary Left, the Upper West Side cranks who had imbibed European Socialism from infancy. In the weeks and months after that meeting, the media powers destroyed Howard Dean and elevated Kerry from dead last to front-runner status. They were king-makers.

That 48% of voters thought that Kerry was "one of us" is, to me, terrifying.

I enjoy your posts.

Under the new law, an employer may discharge an employee during the first two years after which time they have the same protections as currently. As someone pointed out this is a revolt by the upper middle class (only about 6% of French attend university) against any infringement on their privileges.

I think what the college kids are upset over are their prospects after the two years. If the employer can fire for any reason, but only in the first two years, who becomes the more attractive propective employee: an upper-class kid who is past his two years (and thus cannot be fired and has no incentive to work), or a smart, hungry lower-middle-class kid who HAS to hustle to keep his job?
