Live thread from Fayetteville, NC.
About 50 early arrivals in support of the troops have gathered ahead of the leftist "anti-war" rally in Rowan Park.
This is the third year that FreeRepublic, in conjunction with Rolling Thunder, the veteran's motor cycle club, has organized a Support the Troops Rally to counter the Leftist Demonstrations here in the home town of Fort Bragg and Pope Airforce Base. This is the home of 82nd airborne division and 18 airborne corps, and we are proud and grateful for all they do to defend freedom!
I am posting from a handheld, so those of you with better high speed access are invited to post additional information on the leftist speakers on the thread.
I will provide on-site real time commentary and post photos this evening.

I just knew it wasn't 1000. I remember the blatent lies from last year's report. I still have the newspaper!
Congrats to all the NC and visiting FReepers and those that joined the RIGHT side to counter the scum.

What on earth were these two towers?
Why were they positioned next to a "peace pentagon"?
Were they celebrating the 9/11 deaths of innocent people?
Does "Citizen Action" mean grab a plane and fly it into a tower?
Was this a "welcome monument" for certain guests?

Thanks! I should get some pictures of Vlad up on my profile. I put them on the Undead Thread, but they've drifted off into the past now.

Record low turnout of commies in Fayetteville history.Folks may not be happy with the progress of the war on terror, but they are not unhappy enough to join forces with the commies.

Did any of our people ever get messages on the umbrellas. Theo ones visible on the right side of the first picture? For those who don't know, the commies were selling space ( at least at one time they were ) for messages on the umbrellas. Some of us toyed with the idea of buying in and getting a bit of common sense on them.

Poor
Rashad the Pharmacist from Iraq was very upset when some of the counterprotestors asked her how much Code Pink paid her to speak. She also really disliked the chant: "Free the women from their male oppressors."
Obviously, the Code Pink *womyn* forgot to explain "women's suffrage" to Rashid when they picked her up from the airport.
Code Pink said the counterprotestors should be ashamed of themselves for disrupting her speech when she was having her first opportunity to "practice democracy".*
(* It's possible, just possible, that poor Rashad was being used by the Code Pinkos. If that's the case, then today she had the benefit of the courses Choose your Friends Wisely 101 and Freedom of Speech Includes Everyone 101.)

Mr. McDonald threw a shoe but I thought it was hilarious.

This guy tried to break into the American zone. Note his innocent, disingenous expression as he feigns an inability to comprehend why the police will not let him through. The baby in his backpack was in hysterics after he continued to challenge the police, who after politely informing him that he would not be allowed into the American Zone, surrounded him and informed him more insistently that his best option was to walk away if he wished not to be arrested.
Our guess, based on his obliviousness or callousness to the emotional state of the infant, was that it was a loaner baby that he borrowed to appear less threatening and also to place the police in a difficult position by using the baby as a form of human shield. (It becomes more difficult to arrest someone when a struggle might cause injury to an innocent!)
