Canteen Music Dedication
Click for our National Anthem! (remove your caps please!)
Oh, say, can you see, by the dawn's early light, What so proudly we hail'd at the twilight's last gleaming? Whose broad stripes and bright stars, thro' the perilous fight, O'er the ramparts we watch'd, were so gallantly streaming? And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air, Gave proof thro' the night that our flag was still there. O say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?
On the shore dimly seen thro' the mists of the deep, Where the foe's haughty host in dread silence reposes, What is that which the breeze, o'er the towering steep, As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses?
Now it catches the gleam of the morning's first beam, In full glory reflected, now shines on the stream: 'T is the star-spangled banner: O, long may it wave O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!
O, thus be it ever when freemen shall stand, Between their lov'd homes and the war's desolation; Blest with vict'ry and peace, may the heav'n-rescued land Praise the Pow'r that hath made and preserv'd us as a nation! Then conquer we must, when our cause is just, And this be our motto: "In God is our trust" And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

PLEASE READ!!Welcome to the Canteen Music Dedication!! Thank you for joining us again for another weekend filled with fun, laughter, and music!!
If you would like to be added to our Canteen Music Ping list, please understand a few things BEFORE you ask to join the list:
On Friday nights and all day Saturday, you will be pinged 100 times or more. We are not kidding about this number.
If this doesn't seem appealing to you, please do not ask to be added to the list. If you would like to be removed, we
have absolutely no problems removing you. Please FReepmail MoJo2001 or Kathy In Alaska to do so.
Also, a few of you out there have sent in *complaints* that we either play too much offensive material or we don't play
enough of a particular genre. Here's the thing:
We don't play the music for you. We are happy if you enjoy the music, but the ultimate goal is the entertain our Troops,
Veterans, and their families. If you believe that our military personnel are offended by half of the things we play, then
you've never had the fortune of spending time with many of them. They tend to like a variety of different things.
We are not here to ridicule you, but to remind you why this dedication is being done.
If one of the Canteen Deejays makes a mistake with either the title, name of the artist, or they forgot to put a warning,
please have the courtesy to FReepmail them privately. Not everyone is a music expert or has the time to check everything out.
All the Canteen Deejays do this for free. They pay for their own servers and are taking their time to provide the entertainment.
Enough of that!
If you'd like to request a song, here's how you go about doing it:
Freepmail or ping laurenmarlowe!
If the lyrics are not suitable for kids, ping MoJo2001. Why?? laurenmarlowe shouldn't be required to play music that she personally would find offensive such as rap music. However, MoJo listens to rap music and has no problem playing it. So? That should answer a few questions that have been asked earlier this week.
You can email us at musicrequests4u@gmail.com , please put *Music Request* in the subject line. Please be patient. We'll get to you as soon as possible.
We are not an MP3 download site. All the music is removed on Monday. If we catch you coming from an MP3 download site, we will ban or block your ISP.
This week's themes? *St Patrick's Day*, *March Madness*, *Music You're Ashamed To Like*, and a *Comedy Break*.
The *Comedy Break* section is not suitable for children. There is a lot of offensive material in that section. You've been warned!
Have a great weekend!! Thank you to our Troops, Veterans, and their families for giving us the opportunity to entertain you!!

Prayerful Thinking
What is man that You are mindful of him? Psalm 8:4
|
Augustine was one of the most brilliant Christian thinkers of all time. Interestingly, he did some of his most effective and intimate praying while engaged in deep thought. He was what might be called a "prayerful thinker." Often Augustine began a line of reasoning, then concluded it with a prayer. Here is a sample from Confessions, one of his works on theology:
"Too late came I to love You, O Beauty both ancient and ever new; too late came I to love You. . . . You called to me; yes, You even broke open my deafness. Your beams shined unto me and cast away my blindness."
These are not the dry musings of some pseudo-theologian or armchair philosopher. They are the thoughts of someone with a passionate prayer life.
Prayerful thinking is not unique to Augustine. David pondered the beauty of creation and felt compelled to worship his Creator: "When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, the moon and the stars, which You have ordained, what is man that You are mindful of him?" (Psalm 8:3-4).
As we walk life's journey, our deep thoughts and feelings and our praying can be interwoven. Seeing the beauty of nature, or even solving a problem, can be opportunities for prayerful thinking. Dennis Fisher
Thoughts To Ponder
What does it mean that God has "crowned man with glory and honor"? (Psalm 8:5). What does that mean for me today at work and at home?
Prayerful thinking leads to purposeful thanking.
