Gave proof thro' the night that our flag was still there.

O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?
On the shore dimly seen thro' the mists of the deep,
Where the foe's haughty host in dread silence reposes,
What is that which the breeze, o'er the towering steep,
As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses?
Now it catches the gleam of the morning's first beam,
In full glory reflected, now shines on the stream:
'T is the star-spangled banner: O, long may it wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!
O, thus be it ever when freemen shall stand,
Between their lov'd homes and the war's desolation;
Blest with vict'ry and peace, may the heav'n-rescued land
Praise the Pow'r that hath made and preserv'd us as a nation!
Then conquer we must, when our cause is just,
And this be our motto: "In God is our trust"
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

At first no one neared, for at his side appeared..
his guardian angel, and she was filled with wrath..
"This latest task, was too much to ask..
All of his might, he gave to this fight..
and for him, the cost has been Dear..
"His rest must be sustained, if his strength be regained..
You must do all that I tell you to..
For if you do not begin to treasure, this man beyond measure..
I swear by all that is Holy..
I will come back and take him from you...
At this harsh reproach, the Prince sent for his coach..
and ordered the Knight put inside..
The Archer cradled his head, her heart full of dread..
to the King she shot a look of reproach..
and as they raced to to the castle, she cried.

but vowed under her care he'd not die..
In and out of fever dreams, he thought he heard screams..
and he thrashed about as he moaned..
for be it illness or war it is true..
no matter how many beside you..
each man faces his battles alone
His soul did race, across time and space..
and his gurdian angel stayed nearby..
"No my Brave One..Your time is not done..
you must return to your rightful place...
and he came back to himself with a sigh..
Tas awoke with a start, and placed her hand on his heart..
it beat slow and steady and strong..
the Knight smiled at her, and she back at him..
she then instructed the Kings men to depart..
to bring the news to the girls at the Inn..
