South Park has declared war on Scientology.
Matt Stone and Trey Parker, creators of the animated satire, are digging in against the celebrity-endorsed religion after a controversial episode mocking outspoken Scientologist Tom Cruise was yanked abruptly from the schedule Wednesday — with Internet rumours it was covert warfare by Cruise that led to its departure.
“So, Scientology, you may have won THIS battle, but the million-year war for earth has just begun!” the South Park creators said in a statement Friday in Daily Variety. “Temporarily anozinizing (sic) our episode will NOT stop us from keeping Thetans forever trapped in your pitiful man-bodies... You have obstructed us for now, but your feeble bid to save humanity will fail!”
Internet bloggers accused Cruise of threatening to not promote “Mission Impossible 3,” a surefire summer blockbuster, if the offending episode ran. Comedy Central is owned by Viacom, as is Paramount, which is putting out “MI:3.”
But Cruise's representative, Arnold Robinson, said that the mega-star made no such demands.
“Not true,” Robinson said. “I can tell you that he never said that.”

Good luck fighting Scientology. It has a boatload of lawyers who will issue lawsuits like PEZ candies to muzzle any negative comments about them.

Scientology: The religion of choice if you haven't got the courage or brains for islam.
"On Monday, Stone told The Associated Press, "This is 100 percent having to do with his faith in Scientology...He has no problem _ and he's cashed plenty of checks _ with our show making fun of Christians."
Anyone can make fun of Christians all they want, but turn the tables and all of a sudden it's against the rules.

Scientology is a crappy third way religion. It is not unlike Gaia worship.
Apparently Isaac Hayes has left the show and the speculation over at Tim Blair's blog is that it is due to the fact that he is offended by the attack on Scientology. It seems that Chef is a scientologist-whoda thunk it.
If Tom Cruise is such a great actor, why can't he act normal???
They should know better than to piss off those two.
I remember when their song from South Park the movie lost to Phil Collins song from Disney's Tarzan at the oscars.
the next week, they completely destroyed Phil Collins on South Park. And in that case, it wasn't Phil, but the oscars voters who decided that.
I can only imagine what they are going to do to Tom Cruise over this. I can't wait.
