How tall is that in America?

The same height as she is in China. You can look at the u/m conversion from metric to English in the back of a dictionary.

It is not acromeglia. Acromeglia is a condition where the hands, feet, head keep growing after the epiphyseal plates are closed. In other words, the body parts grow thicker, not longer. The person doesn't become taller due to acromegly..

This lady in the pic has giantism. Sometimes it is simpler than you think.

az wildkitten: As well as multiple congenital anomalies. This poor woman is doomed to a very short, uncomfortable life.

Actually given modern medical technology and medicines, she may actually live to see 60 years old at least. Keep in mind, one of the last major cases known of this condition was a century ago, and that european giant man died from a infection cause by a broken leg.

So this woman has a chance as a long life as long as she is careful and take care of herself.

Also, if the condition is caught in children, it can be stopped before it gets dangerious.

I read somewhere that basketball player Yao's parents were both very tall and the Chinese authorities required them to marry. Sort of a genetic experiment to get a very tall child. How true it is I couldn't say.

great photo shop job except

Also, look to the right of Heather's leg, the one moving forward. You can see what looks like the vertical line of a splice. http://www.snopes.com/photos/tallwoman.asp
