David Gregory Going Nuts at WH Briefing
Fox News | 3/16/06

Posted on 03/16/2006 9:34:09 AM PST by pabianice

Everyone's favorite rabid Bush-hater is ripping into McClellan at a WH briefing on today's action in Iraq. Gregory is all over McClellan with charges that Bush has authorized this "bloody attack" to raise his poll numbers. Helen Thomas has just chimed in to say that Bush is a war criminal in his "unauthorized attack in Iraq" (unauthorized by the UN abd MSM). That "preemptive war is unacceptable." As McClellan replies Thomas bores ahead. Quite a sight. Reporters are now challenging McClellan on the US' right to defend itself. The masks are sure off the Dinosaur Press, folks.

Continuing...

He's spineless and uses manipulation instead of standing up like a man and defending our President. He is a poor representation of our administration.

I'd rather of Rumsfield throwing down with D.G. than this softy.

Gregory and Thomas need to stop having sex with each other before the briefings, it makes them both so cranky.

It used to be that words had meaning

Reporter - Wrote up just what happened - Play by Play
Correspondant - Wrote up just what happened and added a little cultural background - Play by Play and a little color
Journalist -Lots of background opinion color, opinions on the event and maybe a sentance of what happened - Almost totally color with only a passing acknowledgement of Play by Play

Just heard that the 101st is saying the operations wasn't a "big deal." ABC Radio.

U.S. soldiers from the 101st Airborne Division's 3rd Brigade Combat Team and the Iraqi Army's 1st Brigade receive a pre-flight briefing from a UH-60 Blackhawk crew chief at Forward Operating Base Remagen airstrip before the start of Operation Swarmer, an assault operation with the combined U.S. and Iraqi forces targeting insurgents near the town of Samarra, about 100 km (60miles) north of Baghdad March 16, 2006. The U.S. military said on Thursday it had launched its biggest air offensive in Iraq since the 2003 invasion. A military statement said the operation involving more than 50 aircraft and 1,500 Iraqi and U.S. troops as well as 200 tactical vehicles targeted suspected insurgents operating near the town of Samarra. If Helen Thomas called Bush a war criminal, she should be removed from the room, she is obviously an enemy of the union.

I thought she no longer had proper credentials to be in the WH briefing room. Didn't her status change a few months ago? Isn't she a freelance columnist or some such now?

I believe she has been given access to which she is no longer entitled....awful precedent, if so.

Attended a dinner last night where a couple of my tablemates were so anti-Iraq terrorist war and thereby anti-Bush. Made me sick to be sitting there.

Was listening to the Randi Rhodes (sp?) show last evening on the way home via XM. Unbelievable the number of "Bush is Hitler", "The Republican party are Nazi's" comments - I mean a LOT of the callers are saying this.

Even the Bush-hater at work is brining up the Hitler comparisons more and more...

then have Bush step into the briefing room when this kind of crap goes on - and dismiss Gregory himself.

Now wouldn't that be something? But then all you would hear about for a week in the press would be how "Bush had a temper tantrum because of his low poll numbers and just wants to shut the press down, blah blah blahtty blah..."

I'm surprised these tolerant, diverse and inclusive libs haven't resorted to calling the President a homosexual at this point.

"Reporters" is the appropriate term. They hate it. They prefer to be called journalists. I prefer to call them "urinalists"......

Ari couldn't take the heat and left.

I think McClellan is a hero for dealing with these jerks day in and day out.

God bless him.

I've been in that situation. I ask them if they had ever been at ground zero before and after 911 (I have, many times); and then I get up and leave the table before I go ballastic and start behaving like a raving lib.

Ask them if they enjoy their freedom. I do not tolerate their behavior at all in the slightest.

Bring back Ari!

Ari was good but WH needs to go totally against type.

They need to bring in a "Darth Vader"...someone who commands respect and fear! Someone who would run the room instead of the other way around...not someone who would allow Helen T. and David G. to say the type of things they say.

This has gone on long enough. The press room is taking on the characteristics of a pre-K day school.
