FReeper Canteen ~ What's The Origin Of Your Screenname? ~ March 16, 2006

What is the origin of your screen name? Come tell us your story.... How'd ya choose your screen name? A situation in your life? Part of a song? Your Military service?
For me, it was three times I came across "Misbehavin" that decided it for me! I bought a blouse that had that on the tag... Then my MIL gave me a book about a cat called Ms.Behavin.. Then I heard the song "Ain't Misbehavin!"
So there ya have it! Have fun! Please, no politics in The Canteen.. We want our troops to rest, relax and relate!
Now tell us YOUR story!! |

I ran across the John Stuart Mill quotation in the prologue of a book recently; I thought it was worth saving.

The idea was Ms.B's -- but she had to work late tonight so I posted it for her. She's gonna freak when she sees how many posts she brought in! LOL!!!

Zook came from my high school rock band back in Dearborn, MI, The Zooks. Our guitar player got it off one of those Pennsylvania Dutch barn signs designed by a man named Zook. At the time, I had no idea that Zook was a common name in PA, and I really had no idea that some day I'd be living in central PA!!!

Huge Batman fan as a teen (got to read comic books for free working at a grocery store). At 15 I bought a 1965 Pontiac Catalina 2-door sedan...black. I put a Batman decal in the window - black bat on yellow oval. Kept that car throughout most of college where I became a small legend driving it around (until my brother borrowed it and totaled it).
Batman is difficult to get as a nickname or user ID being so popular so I got clever and started using Die Fledermaus (Chrioptera just didn't do it for me) or variations thereof.
Only drawback? Gay Germans love to contact me! lol

"horse racing is my passion"
I'm a new handicapper. I have a question for you. What can you tell from a "breezing" workout as opposed to a handily workout? Since the horse isn't being pressed during a breezing workout should I put much stock in time of the workout? At the track I frequent (Turfway) all the workouts are breezing.
I enjoy the races but it seems the harder I work and the more I think I know the more frustrating my results are.
