FReeper Canteen ~ What's The Origin Of Your Screenname? ~ March 16, 2006

What is the origin of your screen name? Come tell us your story.... How'd ya choose your screen name? A situation in your life? Part of a song? Your Military service?
For me, it was three times I came across "Misbehavin" that decided it for me! I bought a blouse that had that on the tag... Then my MIL gave me a book about a cat called Ms.Behavin.. Then I heard the song "Ain't Misbehavin!"
So there ya have it! Have fun! Please, no politics in The Canteen.. We want our troops to rest, relax and relate!
Now tell us YOUR story!! |

Yeah -- the two pieces of equipment not to skimp on -- helmets and chest protectors. Those two items saved the life of our good friend when his bike took a detour without him a couple years ago and he got really friendly with a tree. That was a scary day -- still shudder when I think about it.

Whoa. It's Raistlin. When I first got on the internet, I happened to be reading one of the Dragonlance books, and I wanted to be Raistlin at a forum I was joining. It was taken, so I just came up with the name Rastus. I later found out it has some racial connotations that I was unaware of. Apparently, Rastus is the name of the Cream of Wheat guy, and I guess the name has been used in a negative way, like calling someone an Uncle Tom or something. I don't know, but that wasn't my intention. I no longer go by Rastus on other sites, but I'm kind of locked in with it here.

Aren't most of us?
I've figured out that I'm 1/32nd Cherokee on my father's side. Cub No. 1 has already indicated that he'll be styling himself as a Native American (being 1/64th Cherokee) when he starts on his college applications next year.

I got the nickname "Spikey" from my grandfather because I had this one little cowlick of hair that would always stand up on the back of my head. Even to this day and I keep my hair really short it still sticks up. He called me spikey up until the day he died when I was 9 and I have kept using it (as has my mom and sister).
