. . . telling Owens that he took large amount of heroin and cocaine trying to kill himself before he abducted Carlie on Feb. 1, 2004. Let us help you.

I guess the little cry baby act didn't play very well.
I volunteer to push the plunger, flip the switch or pull the ring for the long drop. Heck, I'd bring my own rifle and work my way up from the ankle. Save the state some money.

Just hope that Florida doesn't get a Democratic governor who will commute everybody on death row..

Since it's Florida it probly wont take that long.
Main thing is he is going to take the "Guerney Journey"

...Smith tearfully apologized for his crimes, telling Owens that he took large amount of heroin and cocaine trying to kill himself..."
Unfortunately, because he didn't succeed then, a girl is dead. NOW he may finally get his wish.

He's lucky they will only fry him. I hear death by dehydration is euphoric, so if he balks at ole sparky, maybe he should have the other method.

The significant thing about this case (it is of course a given that he should be killed now) is his very long rap sheet, the number of encounters with the law, the nature of his priors - he should have been killed a long time ago.
His first known offense was for smashing a woman over the head and dragging her into the woods. She escaped, and he got probation. That was society's first mistake.
Why did the judge think he dragged he into the woods? To discuss Goethe?
Human predators should be killed as soon as they are identified. If this had been done, Carlie would be alive.
It's really that simple.

The judge on FOX said that it only takes 18 to 24 months for all appeals to run out in Florida. By contrast, he said, it takes 20 years in California.

No. Use the gas chamber--the subject knows exactly what's happening and the last few seconds are pure hell.

Actually O'Reilly's idea of punishment is hard labor for the rest of one's life. This would be better than the death penalty. Humane Death is too easy.

"Absent from the courtroom was Carlies mother, Susan Schorpen, who is in jail in Pinellas County on drug and prostitution charges. She has said the pain of losing her daughter led her to institutionalize herself three times and take drugs to numb the pain."Oh, man.
Hey God, a little help here, please.

He deserves the death penalty.

I think criminals on death row should be allowed to die the way their victims died. I don't want to hear any cruel and unusual BS either.

Brian, listening to the judge, I was stunned to hear that this guy tried to rig it so his brother found the body so he would get the reward and use it to raise Smith's children!
Did his family help him in anyway?

Depends on the state.
California takes forever while Texas runs em thru pretty quick.
I think Florida processess them fairly fast also

If you are under the influence of drugs when you kill than that is all the MORE reason you should get a strict sentence, preferably death.
