Give Dem strategist Hillary Rosen high marks for candor.
It's been obvious for ages that from Medicare to Social Security to foreign policy, the Dems don't propose anything that comes close to a hint of a suggestion of an outline of a constructive proposal.
Just the same, Democrats deny that the only thing they have to offer is fear itself. They claim they're being constructive, and keep promising to come forth, at a date certain, with specific proposals. It's just that the date somehow manages never to arrive.
It was thus curiously refreshing to hear a Democrat admit what everyone knows: the Dems have no policy and see no reason to offer one. The particular context was the war in Iraq. Interviewing Rosen on this evening's Hardball, Chris Matthews asserted: "I don't think your [your?] party has a policy."
Acknowledged Rosen: "It doesn't have a policy. It doesn't need to have a policy. What's the point of a Democratic policy?"
Going to break, a palpably shocked Matthews exclaimed: "I can't believe you said that!"

s will just do as we always do Sure, the RATs have a plan of, course - the same damn plan they've had for 75 years: raise taxes - that'll solve everything! Steal more money from the working stiffs and give it to the world's downtrodden, victims of US oppression. And let the freakin' UN administer a global income tax with 99% of the burden falling on US workers. That'll fix everything.
So.....the democrats strategy is.....to not have a strategy.
These people never fail to blow my mind.
If there was ever a time a third party was needed it is now. My neighbor who is a big Dem (but not quite a lib) has been just beside himself with his own party. He used to argue that the Democrats would make a recovery and now he doesn't know what to think. Even I feel bad for the guy.

Their pitch is "just put us in power and everything will be fine. Trust us." The latest dem bumper sticker is "Had enough, Vote Democrat." The plan is just to relentlessly attack the President and make everyone tired of the attacks. That is what we are to be tired of, and, I guess, their promise is, if we elect them, they'll make it stop. Not much of a message.
