The Port Deal and Race was it a factor at all(Of Course Not)
The Emirates Economist | 03/12/06 | bayourant

Did Race play a role in the Port Deal discussions? The very charge is met by the likes of Sean Hannity and others with Righteous Indigination. In fact, to mention it makes you the true problem. Mark Levin in fact called a MAjor General a dirtbag over that charge. The below cartoons may be an issue now in the UAE. They are not cartoons about that ole darn prophet however. THere will be no boycotts over these but remember still they dont help things. The cartoonist just give us what we want sometimes. From MSNBC the following cartoon. There were many others that through the glory of the net are available to all.

Unlike you, my memory is excellent. Go read your own posts; to me and to others, for the past week.

Abizaid clearly said that "some people" were Arab- and Muslim-bashing. He didn't say all critiques of the port deal were Arab- and Muslim-bashing.

It is the MSM who took what Abizaid said and distorted it.

Like this;

Gee, what a suprise.

If a reporter has his opinion about a non-military, non-policy bit of rhetoric...I assume the man has his own thoughts that he is able to express.

Has Peter Pace or any of the other Joint Chiefs expressed anger over his remarks??

"You think Saudi Arabia is such a nice place to be with your bible, next time you go, stay there."

Well, I've already asked several times what Saudi Arabia has to do with the UAE. Apparently, you don't know either. But thanks for proving my point about how 70% of Americans could favor dumping the UAE port deal. You certainly illustrate how easy it is for the media to keep Americans from focusing on the facts.

That's right...pretend that you don't understand FR slang. But then, I have seen what that stands for, actually written on FR ( on this thread, actually ) without the poster being banned or suspended. But, I'm not going to write out what it means.

LOL...sounds like your life is just a bit more exciting than mine.

Allow me to rearange, "ever so slightly."

I still have vinyl hanging around somewhere.

Music soothes the savage beast. At some point, politics is mere entertainment. That the people see it as so must drive the politicians batty ;-) They are, of course, all serious and deliberative. But reality says they are not all powerful.
