Did Race play a role in the Port Deal discussions? The very charge is met by the likes of Sean Hannity and others with Righteous Indigination. In fact, to mention it makes you the true problem. Mark Levin in fact called a MAjor General a dirtbag over that charge. The below cartoons may be an issue now in the UAE. They are not cartoons about that ole darn prophet however. THere will be no boycotts over these but remember still they dont help things. The cartoonist just give us what we want sometimes. From MSNBC the following cartoon. There were many others that through the glory of the net are available to all.
Well, it was not my intention to get into yet another debate over the port deal, especially since it was withdrawn 3 days ago. My purpose was to respond to an outright smear accusing me of calling a general a dirtbag. The same guy who started this thread has said this elsewhere, and if left unanswered I could see it would just continue to be posted. Thank you all for your indulgence. Hope I didn't offend too many of you - just having fun with you. Take care.
Thanks girlfriend. I'll still need a reminder! Central time zone is still giving me fits...lol.
That, of course, remains to be seen, doesn't it?
You didn't offend anyone at all. Not me anyway.
I provided the poster the alleged date.
Sue me.
How about just calling them poorly informed?
good points all.
Before running down the road on the question of someone having used the so-called "race card" you have to find out what they mean by "race" first.
We do, after all, still have some funny little foreign people who come in here to post.
I thought I saw a dirtbag, don't you?
The best thread of the night!
'BOUT TIME YOU GOT HERE!
Took the words right out of my fingers. I've been observing this poster's replies, and they are most definitely reminiscent of good ol' Rod.
ROTFLMAO!
...this popcorn is great! BTW, the smear was uncalled for.
---Are you actually suggesting it's a bad thing that the Miers nomination got scuttled? ---
I would have liked to seen the Miers nomination go to hearings, but I am not going to fight that battle over again, thanks.
What, me miss out on a good scrape?
And NONE of this has anything whatsoever to do with American "sovereignty".
Most of our imports come from foreign ports; Singapore and the Netherlands being the largest ones.
American companies long ago gave up the shipping business and we rely on foreign own ships and lease foreign companies the management of some terminals in our state owned and run ports.
But that's okay...facts don't matter one whit to you and the vast majority of the American populace never pay any attention, whatsoever, to much of anything.
why haven't the media and the Dems been able to convince 81% of americans with their lies about the "illegal, warrantless domestic wiretaps" story? I mean, its the same idiots out there - right? where they smart just a month ago on Alito and the wiretaps, and they all of a sudden got dumb?
forget this line of argument on this one. you have your positions, we have ours, we just differ on this - that's all. most of the debate has been honest, except when it resorts to the religious bigotry attack. the UAE owns the essex house in manhattan, I pass by it every week, they even rebadged the sign with some arabic name - I don't see any protestors out in front asking congress to divest them of it.
He is.
And don't cross him. ;O)
I think Rush was the first guy off the block with a reference to the WSJ October article, and that clearly identified the deal as one involving the sale of a company that held operating contracts for gantry cranes at various terminals where they load/unload container ships.
The articles we were all reading initially appear to have been cleverly designed to trick the public. The Dubai company can probably sue the pants off the news media who misreported this commercial deal ~
