A large tornado has moved through Illinois and has just hit the City of Springfield. Spotters reported a large tornado moved through the city. Damage is being reported. Emergency responders are being called in from surrounding areas.
NWS reports that this was a large wedge tornado.
Oh my, do you know where that is?
Our local news is saying that MO is going to have a night of major storm activity with tornadoes in these super cells. Some of the storms are just now moving into MO from NE OK.
You are right about I-44. I have seen more nasty storms since we have lived in Norman start down in Southern OK, track up I-44 all the way into MO heading into St. Louis.
Channel 7 Detroit 11:00PM lead story says the possibility of tornadoes cannot be ruled out tonight in southeastern Michigan.
After what we have gone through in the past few years, I like calm. :)
MidAmerican wants people to call if your power goes out to make sure all outages are being covered or if you see lines down.

Yeah. We live in Davenport.
Getting water in the basement now (takes a lot of ground water saturation for that to happen).
Found out we had a clogged gutter (just cleaned them in the fall). Had water running in my daughter's window.
It's always something!
:)
I want to say Kawanee was responding to it....there are so many depts on this scanner feed, and they are all trying to talk....
in another location a building was on the railroad tracks
I hope the people of the Midwest don't hear from those insensitive, thoughtless but blessed people who have no damage that will want you to abandon the Midwest to keep their insurance rates from going up.
Calm is good.
Hey there, good to see fellow Quad Citians tonight! I'll repeat, stay safe, it's starting again. Hope you don't get much more.
Oh, did you hear that nasty blast just then?
You lived where the tornadoes have gone through three times since we have lived here. It is unbelieveable how many major tornadoes have followed the same track. I wouldn't live in some sections of Moore if they paid me.
Used to live in SoCal in the foothills of the San Gorgonio Mountains in Yucaipa. Only earthquakes I have felt were in Ohio but it was always a threat living in SoCal.
I like the way they track the storms here -- by blocks and time so you know where they are located. We have some great storm chasers assigned to our TV stations.
OH NO! Thanks for that update. Scanners are great for these situations.
Take care of yourself....stay safe...
Thank you. My heart is starting to race a little.
Good to see another Quad-Citian on here! Stay safe over there!
the whole storm feed went down...now I am listening to some police pursuit in Ill.
I just hate this....we have several more months of this....welcome to Illinois....
Yep. Been lots of thunderboomers tonight.
Looking at the radar, it appears we're just in for more thunderstorms and rain for a little bit.
At least we don't have any high winds to go with.
(Wow. That one was a big one!)
Damage to Hampton Inn and homes in Milan
Have you heard from retro?
