Saying "I'm still a federal judge" doesn't even come close to suggesting that one is planning on hearing cases again.

So this is where the phrase "sit on it" came from in the TV series Happy Days? Sure, sit on it, Justice O'Connor...

The courts have too much power! No one is listening to me on this.

Judicial Review isn't in the Constitution - thus there is no real check on it. Congress can (theorically) pass a law to go around a decision, but it only takes one lawsuit to throw out said law.

The judges are the new aristocracy and O'Conner's statements prove it.

If she gets designated for the 9th circuit, she could move that court sharply to the right.

Sandra Day O'Connor was one of two of the STUPIDEST things that Ronald Reagan EVER did. The other was appointing George HW Bush as his VP! The Bushies are too much East Coast liberal to lead this country properly.

I think this woman SHOULD sit in a court again.

Nothing wrong in a little competition for Judge Judy.

And besides, "Judge Sandra" has a nice ring to it!

No wonder the country is so screwed up. Even (former) Supremes don't understand the meaning of simple words...like RETIRED".

I thought she resigned to "sit" at her hubby's bedside.

BTW, would she be paid to sit, as well as collect her pension?

Mrs. O'Connor can sit on any bench she likes, so long as it's a charity softball game.

Only bench Sandra should be near is one where she can feed the pigeons at the park. Senile and delusional if she thinks there's a comeback tour for her.

but O'Connor did not indicate where she hopes to sit.

Hopefully on a tack.

Retired judges often sit on cases where private parties pay rather than keep it in public court.

They can sit on cases perhaps involving millions in judgments.

She could be made a temporary appointment and so forth.

I though she wanted to care for a dying husband. Maybe he is on the way out already.

These libs just have to stay relevant, don't they?

She could be making retirement more relevant and interesting for her husband. But evidently she's married to the law and doesn't plan on getting a divorce soon.

Marriage doesn't seem to mean the same thing to the liberal intellectual elite as it does to a lot of people in this country.

Unless maybe he doesn't want her around, hah.

The only bench this old crank needs to sit on is a park bench, feeding pigeons.
