A friend of mine took these pictures of a cougar. He lives right outside of Yellowstone, and the cougar apparently wanted to get inside of his house.

"Those things can jump far!"
Bullet flies further. And the cat was more or less in one place, thus an easy target.

I think my friend stayed inside - his rifle was out in his detached garage. I remember there was an incident with a grizzly bear in his driveway a few years earlier, in which the bear took a 30-06 slug. I'll send him an e-mail and see if he wants to comment on it.

Hey BG, come see a cousin of your future neighbors and how downright friendly they can be. They're the Welcome Wagon of the Mountains. ;-) P.S. it's raining here again, almost sounds like sleet.
Those are scary photos, Mini-14. Thanks for posting them!

No matter what happened with this particular cat, I don't think I could ever again enjoy sitting on my porch in the evening. Nor would I want to step out to get a log or get something out of my car. In fact, I WOULD MOVE.

The cat has to go. No fear of humans means it's only a matter of time until it attacks pets or humans.
