Welcome to the Canteen!
The Canteen's Mission is to provide support in whatever capacity we can for our Troops, Veterans, their family members, and anyone that helps our Troops! If this sounds good to you, come join the fun!! Please keep the politics for politicians!
THE MUSIC IS FOR OUR TROOPS, VETERANS, and THEIR FAMILIES!!
_________________________________ Please do not hotlink any music played at the Canteen without permission. If you like a particular song from one of our Deejays, please write to them personally to ask permission. We are also not an MP3 download site. If you are finding via one of those search engines, we will ban you. If you are a FReeper and taking our music elsewhere, we're going to have issues. Please don't go there. If you would like to request music, you can do one of the following:
FReepmail us Email us at musicrequests4u@gmail.com Post it on the thread Please ping laurenmarlowe to any music requests. Any song whose lyrics are inappropriate for children, please ping MoJo2001. Please be patient! |
Genre: Soundtracks Do you like songs from movies? If you enjoy movie soundtracks, then this is for you! By the way, on the right hand side is more information about the movie and how to buy it! Which soundtracks do you like?
|
Genre: Alternative/Rock More current stuff for those that enjoy it! This section may be inappropriate for children! Please click with care. If an artist doesn't sound familiar to you, be careful! Want more of this type of music? Check out AZAmericonnie and EsmeraldaA's selections on the thread. As always, the music will be removed on Monday! We aren't an MP3 download site!
|
Genre: Rap/Hip Hop/Old School This section may be inappropriate for children and Ma! For those of you that like this type of music, enjoy! All music will be removed on Monday! If you've never heard of these artists and you aren't sure, we would warn against clicking on any of the music.
|
Genre: Same Song, Different Artists We've done this before and most of you know what this is about. If not, what we are basically doing is playing the same song but sung by different artists. Enjoy! There are a lot of remakes and if you find we didn't feature one, you can always request it.
|
Genre: Expanding Your Horizons The music in this section highlights some artists that perhaps you've never heard of. If you haven't, then click on the artist and check it out. Nothing wrong with expanding your horizons unless your name is Ma. Enjoy the music!! Thank you Troops!

A Great Coach
I have no one like-minded, who will sincerely care for your state. Philippians 2:20
|
Although Billy Connors was not a great athlete himself, many people consider him to be the best pitching coach in major league baseball today. New York Yankees manager Joe Torre said: "Sometimes the best players can't coach, because they were such naturals . . . whereas guys like Billy had to work at it, and pay attention to all the little things."
Connors also knows and cares about the men he coaches. All of them have been to his home for a meal. His genuine concern opens their ears to what he has to say.
This account of a caring and competent coach made me think of Timothy in the New Testament. Though at times he seemed timid and fearful (2 Timothy 1:6-8), Paul considered him proven and dependable in guiding others. The apostle wrote, "I trust in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy to you . . . . For I have no one like-minded, who will sincerely care for your state" (Philippians 2:19-20).
Spiritual coaching is not just telling people how to accomplish great things for God. It begins with caring for them and earning the right to be heard. Then, with a keen eye and a kind word, we can encourage others in the way of faith.
Any Christian can become a great spiritual coach by the grace of God. David McCasland
O Lord, You are faithful and always will be,
You never give up on working with me;
So as I am striving to serve You each day,
Help me show others Your will and Your way. Fitzhugh
Genuine concern for others is the mark of a great spiritual coach.

MsDrumbo & Mike were in an auto accident today, sandwitched between two cars, but she and Mike are okay. The car in front slamed on brakes and Char stopped without hitting it, but the guy behind her rammed her into to other car.
The Paramedics looked Mike over and gave him a clean bill of health thanks to his car seat. The car however, is crunched pretty good - front & back; folded the radiator and may be totaled. I'm mad that the airbags didn't deploy. Other than that, no excitement here, it's just that I'm still unpacking boxes after almost two weeks. I ran out of room for stuff last weekend, lol.

Thank you, God, for watching over Char and Mikey in this accident.
I'm mad that the airbags didn't deploy.
I would think so.....I would be on the phone to whatever high up persons I could find.
