Welcome to the Canteen!
The Canteen's Mission is to provide support in whatever capacity we can for our Troops, Veterans, their family members, and anyone that helps our Troops! If this sounds good to you, come join the fun!! Please keep the politics for politicians!
THE MUSIC IS FOR OUR TROOPS, VETERANS, and THEIR FAMILIES!!
_________________________________ Please do not hotlink any music played at the Canteen without permission. If you like a particular song from one of our Deejays, please write to them personally to ask permission. We are also not an MP3 download site. If you are finding via one of those search engines, we will ban you. If you are a FReeper and taking our music elsewhere, we're going to have issues. Please don't go there. If you would like to request music, you can do one of the following:
FReepmail us Email us at musicrequests4u@gmail.com Post it on the thread Please ping laurenmarlowe to any music requests. Any song whose lyrics are inappropriate for children, please ping MoJo2001. Please be patient! |
Genre: Soundtracks Do you like songs from movies? If you enjoy movie soundtracks, then this is for you! By the way, on the right hand side is more information about the movie and how to buy it! Which soundtracks do you like?
|
Genre: Alternative/Rock More current stuff for those that enjoy it! This section may be inappropriate for children! Please click with care. If an artist doesn't sound familiar to you, be careful! Want more of this type of music? Check out AZAmericonnie and EsmeraldaA's selections on the thread. As always, the music will be removed on Monday! We aren't an MP3 download site!
|
Genre: Rap/Hip Hop/Old School This section may be inappropriate for children and Ma! For those of you that like this type of music, enjoy! All music will be removed on Monday! If you've never heard of these artists and you aren't sure, we would warn against clicking on any of the music.
|
Genre: Same Song, Different Artists We've done this before and most of you know what this is about. If not, what we are basically doing is playing the same song but sung by different artists. Enjoy! There are a lot of remakes and if you find we didn't feature one, you can always request it.
|
Genre: Expanding Your Horizons The music in this section highlights some artists that perhaps you've never heard of. If you haven't, then click on the artist and check it out. Nothing wrong with expanding your horizons unless your name is Ma. Enjoy the music!! Thank you Troops!

Excellent pic's of the BT-13 alfa6!
The first one appears to be an ominous flight situation, perhaps the camera angle promotes this. : )

But I like the beach boys......
Some of us have good taste. ;)
Remember Goldie Hawn and (ugh!) Chevy Chase's film FOUL PLAY? I watched that last night. I forgot that it featured some Barry Manilow music! The film was made "before MoJo's time," but I bet if she watched it now, the music would get to her! (If not in a good way, at least in some way.)
It also features music from THE MIKADO!

Your welcome, however them ain't BT-13s, example of BT-13. (blushing) that's why ol' codgers like me wouldn't make good military pilots and why Greg "Pappy" Boyington was called "pappy" or "Gramps" affectionately at the ripe old age of 30....
My mistake and thanks for the correction alfa6.
After all my Father was a trainer for he was considered too old for combat at the ripe old age of 26 during his stint in the Army Air Corp.
On the brighter side, we achieved more excellent pic's via my mistake..... ; )

Kathy can only wink one eye. I now know that in one area, I have more coordination than somebody else in the world! LOL
(I'm catching up on the Saturday thread still -- and getting dizzy just trying to think of adjusting to that night vision stuff. Balance isn't always one of my strengths. In fact, my ex-Marine-drill-sergeant history teacher in HS told me I wouldn't have to worry about being drafted -- if the Viet Nam-era draft boards ever got around to drafting females -- because I can't stand up with my eyes closed. I guess that's a preliminary part of the physical. Evidently it wasn't a well-known part of the physical or else those wimpy ones who fled to Canada would have just acted loopy during the eyes-closed part of their physical. Of course, the way some of those hippies staggered, the medics probably wouldn't have noticed any difference.) ;)

Fawnn,
Are we showing our age? Foul Play is one of my all time favorites and I have watched it 100+ times! In 1977, I thought I was Goldie Hawn. I promised myself that someday I would live in San Francisco and drive a convertible VW. In 1979, that dream came true when I became a Buyer and moved there for 4+ years!

Well, Kathy, that program in Microsoft office works like a charm! Thanks for telling me about it! I'm going about the task of re-sizing and organizing. Then I'll upload the resized stuff and get rid of the big stuff. You can learn much valuable information on FR! THanks!

I did buy a 1979 white on white convertible VW! It was awesome. I did avoid the dwarf. Looked for my Chevy Chase but didn't find him till I moved back to Phoenix in 1984. We've been married 20 years and have 2 sons, one a Marine. I think we laugh the most at the Japanese tourists in the taxi.

Good girl. I got the file at work and just went to look at it. THE PIC IS GREAT!!
El Gran jarred some brain cells with his words of explanation.
I just found a "compress" button too!!! We can learn some neat stuff. LOL!
Thanks, El Gran, for the explanation that did the jogging. Now I know I can compress too!
Now, back to work.

In my haste to post music last night I missed the part of the question about compression.
Yes, you can also compress the image as well as changing the height/width to make the file even smaller. The down-side to compressing the image is that it then takes a little bit longer to open for viewing so that the FR page will load a bit slower. If everyone who posts images on FR used compression the slow-down in page loading would be quite noticeable.
