O'Reilly Sends FOX Security for Mentioning Keith Olbermann's Name
my local radio station ^ | 3/10/06 | myself

This morning my local morning radio guys were cracking on Bill O'Reilly for being a bit paranoid regarding Olbermann. They played a clip where a guy called in to his radio show and merely mentioned Olbermann's show, and O'Reilly cut him off and set Fox Security on him. I don't watch The Factor, so I totally missed this. Anyone else catch it?

He had Fox Security call the guy back and tell him to stop making harassing phone calls.

I like his show on Fox. I think it is the best news analysis program out there. People love to trash on O'Reilly on FR, which I find a bit funny and don't completely understand. Simply put, he declares the ACLU an enemy of America, calls Islamofascism exactly what it is, rails on politicians nightly about the open borders, definitely understands and supports our war and does all he can to protect children.

What a terrible man.

The person who called O'Reilly has a message on his answering machine by someone named "Tony" with the last name bleeped out, claiming to be from Fox security, asking him to call back. Who knows if the guy's really who he says he is, but it's apparently on tape, whatever it is.

"....but anytime he is quoted or does something stupid, they say "conservative commentator Bill O'Reilly".

True, but then the media think that Jesse Jackson is a moderate and I've heard Alec Baldwin, Michael Douglass Jr. and Susan Sarandon refer to the Clintons as "conservatives".

"He is anti-2nd Amendment and think government should regulated the size of automobile engines and fuel mileage!"

Really? I've never heard that one, or those ones, rather.

"He hates Suvs!"

Never heard that but so do I. So what? Can't I be a good conservative if I don't like SUVs?

I heard the clip on AirHeads America (tm). They always cut things off and take things out of context. The man was cut off on a time delay. What he said is a mystery and I haven't heard what it was, but I bet he was not inviting BOR to tea.

I'm just sayin, you ask someone that only casually follows politics, they would put him on the right.

The times I have heard him, he seems to go so far out of his way to not be labelled conservative that he ends up taking the middle position most of the time.

I'll never forget listening to him speaking about abortion, and he refused to believe that partial-birth abortions were still being done in the United States.

I believe you might be on to something. I'll request Gregory replace him when he's fired from this gig. :-)

I heard that the rest of it was that the guy said "I want to thank you for turning me onto Olbermann's show". Bill certainly could have cut him off, but to even threaten to have security call the guy back. Weak

---there used to be a mediocre sportscaster named Keith Olberman in Los Angeles a few years ago.---

Olbermann was on ESPN for a few years, then got suspended for criticizing the city of Bristol, Connecticut (site of ESPN headquarters) on a comedy show. He was reasonably entertaining as a sports anchor. He coined the phrase
"he puts the biscuit in the basket" to describe a hockey player scoring. However, when he moved from sports to pseudo-news and politics on PMSNBC he revealed himself as a snotty, self-important, first-class liberal anus.

I would not label O'Reilly a conservative - no way. Just because he is considerably to the right of Oberman doesn't make him one. I'd label him a middle-of-roader. Same with President Bush - he is not a conservative although considerably to the right of John Kerry (just look at his spending, open borders, CFR, close ties with Clinton, etc.)

I haven't heard O'Reilly's radio show. But the very few times I've happened to switch past Oberman, he surely appears obsessed with O'Reilly.

There is also a liberal radio talk-show host (out of DC?, can't recall her name) who is absolutely obsessed with O'Reilly, and keeps repeating the same statements about him over and over again. Reminds me of Glenn Close in "Fatal Attraction."

Since O'Reilly has come out strongly against pedophiles and ACLU, pro Iraq war, and has challenged Rev. Jesse Jackson, the left has started to label him a conservative.

Most people who don't follow politics closely would recognize O'Reilly and tell you he was a conservative.

Most people who don't follow politics wouldn't know O'Reilly from a hole in the ground.

Hello, this Roger Ailes calling. Would you please quit harrassing Bill O'Dumbass because he won't shut up about it, and he's already the biggest a-hole at the network.

Besides, as you may know, Bill has some knowledge of harrassing phone calls, so spare us your denials!!

Are there any conservatives on TV exposing Judges who don't sentence child rapists?

No never watch the bloviator. Used to years ago but no more. He can dish it out but he can't take it. Tries to be the "tough guy" and he loses. Who cares. He can go off the air with the rest of the shows for all I care.
