I was wrong. I really thought enough sanity would prevail in Congress that America wouldn't be so stupid. I of course expected a lot of political posturing, but in the end was pretty certain the deal would go through. As it should have.

Congratulations Sen. Reid and Sen. Schumer. You won. America lost.

Sanity did prevail, in the United Arab Emerites. They saw how important the war on terror was. They saw how important their relationship with the United States was. They valued that relationship, they want to defeat terroristm.

So they sanely decided that the best thing to do with the crazies in washington was to give in for the good of the countries.

Sad that the UAE, who the opponents are STILL calling supporters of terrorists right here in this very thread, acted in saner and better way than our own elected representatives.

I am proud today of John Warner, who was always on the right side of this deal, and George Allen, who was willing to hear all the facts before passing judgment. Both of my senators resisted the rush to judgment.

Apparently Schumer won real big.

From another thread. An American company got beat out of the sell by P&O by DP World and because Eller couldn't win in the court of law, they simply lobbyied Warner who said he would look into it. That wasn't enough so he went to Schumer who made hay.

The bottom line is this was a business deal UNDERCUT by a competitor of DP World. This was purely a lobbyist play by Eller. If, in the end they get this deal, there should be a serious examination of the money trail from Eller to Schumer, Clinton, et al.

I totally agree with you. In order to enact change, we should do it from within a country.
Read Washington Journal. Are you happy now? I second the motion that Haliburton should come up with the terminal LEASES.
Ignorant you can fix, stupid is forever....

I sure don't want to hear Kerry and Biden complaining that President Bush doesn't reach out diplomatically to other countries for help....

He did...and got slapped down for it.

Also....look for Schmuckie to be doing the snoopy dance of joy over this in his checkbook!!

And lets not forget the Republicans who signed on.

A great day for America and the War On Terror.
