ISLAMABAD, Pakistan -- A week of unprecedented urban fighting in the wild tribal belt of North Waziristan has left scores dead and forced thousands to flee their homes, raising the stakes in Pakistan's war on Islamic militancy along the Afghan border. A jumbled alliance of foreign militants, local tribesmen and Islamic students eager for jihad have stepped up resistance in a region where the army already claims to have wiped out al-Qaida as a viable fighting force. The unrest, brewing for months, is a setback to the U.S.-led war on terror. Further hampering that effort are deteriorating relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan over Afghan claims that Taliban leader Mullah Omar is hiding in Pakistan and suicide bombers are training here. |

We report the first identification of HCoV-HKU1 in the Western Hemisphere. These findings suggest that HCoV-HKU1 may have a worldwide distribution. well... gulp... what does that mean. Not what I think it means, I hope!

"Do You Have Any Idea Who I Am? Yep, most of us know who Cynthia McKinney is. The video of the incident will tell EXACTLY what happened (thankfully). Ms. McKinney wasn't wearing her identifying lapel pin and she should know about consequences for not doing what you're supposed to do. I commend the officer for doing his job. If she is found guilty, she deserves no more leniency than anyone else who would have done the same thing.

OPINION: Whenever I read an indepth report or update article; I like to go to Google - Search New and put my search term in quotes. Then on the right hand side of the page is "by date" and I click that and get the latest news on whatever subject I am looking for the latest news on.
